Post game conference and Roethlisberger finally says what needs to be said. "The young guys can't catch a ******* cold." He was nicer than that, but there it is. It was an AFC Championship game and the P*ts were at times covering Brown with 3 guys. In response Coates dropped 4 balls and Hamilton dropped 2 TDs and ****** up another. Ben doesn't HAVE to say "My team is GREAT. They fought all the way and I'm proud as heck of em!" He get to say every now and then, "Well ****. When you hit a guy in the ******' hands, you'd like to think if he's making upwards of 2 or 3 million a year he maybe might just ******' catch it."

Tomlin meanwhile started vacantly at the reporters and tried not to blink. He promised that next week would be truly inspirational. He expected the coaches would come up with something to slow down the P*ts by then. They would go back to the lab and turn over stones. Remember everyone, NE has to go through Pittsburgh to make it to the Superbowl.

Meanwhile, the reporters couldn't hear Munchak - he was 10 yards back behind the microphone.

Haley kept running up and slamming into the microphone and getting knocked down to the ground. Although once in awhile he'd try to heave the microphone deep to one of the P*ts beat reporters. Ultimately the press gave up.

That was funny Wig but our boy Ben really did say that the game was too big for the younger guys. I heard that on Stan's show and now on the super genius's show.

Ben is spot on! This game was too big for the likes of Coates, Hamilton, Davis and Burns. No one stepped up! Although Ben would never mention names its obvious who he was referring to.

Man these guys needed to step up and take some heat off of Brown but failed to do so. Hurry back Martavis and please don't **** this up again.

Have to borrow DBS' meme ... too good to ignore:

Hell, that game was too big for some of the veteran guys. The zone scheme was atrocious from the start so no excuse but the execution of it was just as bad. I watched some of the breakdown of it by Herm Edwards and it was pathetic. Those guys in the secondary and even the LBs were so out of place.

Billick said that Butler tried everything to adjust to the pats**** offense. 3, 4, 5 man rush with blitzes from every angle...also tried man coverage....nothing worked (obviously) and that the young guys just got lost when the pats**** went to hurry up/no huddle.

I missed more than half the game because of tornadoes and 60 mph winds...played hell with my satellite tv.

Billick must have been watching another game

I watched the entire game, and have to call bullshit on that one, the few times we blitzed we didn't disguise it or anything, but we were in the ****** zone with out best two pass rushers in pass coverage all game.

As for Ben, good I'm glad he finally called them out, they've been killing him all year and he's the one taking **** for it most of the time, hell Brown and Hamilton over there on the sideline laughing up while getting beat. And per Joe Starkey, he said "he was told from a sideline guy he trust very much, that Brown was very pissed when he didn't get the late TD to Hamilton thrown his way"

Agreed. Basically every goddam play, the defense had either Harrison or Dupree drop into coverage, and resulted in a 3 or 4 man rush.

The blitzes I saw involved Shazier to the A-gap, with Dupree dropping into coverage to try and take away some of the middle of the field. NE's blocking focused on stuffing the A-gap blitz or cross-blitz, and give Brady a good pocket and room to step up if the OLB beat a block.

Dropping one of your two best pass rushers into coverage the entire game, and rushing 3-4 instead of 4-5, including safety and corner blitzes (which work very well against NE and their "inside-out" pass protection), was the recipe for suck.

And no surprise, the defense followed the recipe and sucked.

NFLN reported Brown was pouting after Williams TD, was last off the field, and Ben had to talk to him. I'm starting to doubt Brown a bit and if the team should invest as much in him. It hurts to think and say so, but...

If Brown had any time left on his contract, I'd seek a trade with a team in the AFC East. Maybe we need to see how we can make the AFC East more competitive. Put Baltimore in the East and put the Bills in the North. It would be fun to see some competition.

You know if that's ******* true about Brown that's almost about all I want to tolerate from this immature self centered Mental midget. I'm serious! **** giving him s boat load of money. Consider moving him for s couple high draft picks. Do we really need this me me guy. That sucks if he was pissed about that.

He seemed very ... emotionless all game. I think it goes back to being scolded for the Facebook streaming, and then not getting enough throws his way just added to that.

What are the Steelers running here, romper room for all the toddlers. Geez! I thought this was a team sport and not a me sport and I'm pissed because I got to get my stats. The first thing Tomlin better ******* change is the attitude of this team. At least guys like Brown. You want to stay in black and gold then shut the **** up and do your job. Quit trying to be their friend and be their head coach.

Brown is going to be a tough call.

He's in the last year of his contract that has really underpaid him. We've thrown him some money that last two years to keep him somewhat happy, but he wants a big payday and he's not going to play out this year without that huge bonus.

I agree you have to really question is he worth $12-$14 million/year? And a LONG term deal like that too? Through 2022?

Brown does some things I haven't seen in a long time. And some games he looks unstoppable. But WR's are the hood ornaments of an offense. And his off-field persona and self-promotion is getting a bit old. We could get Bryant back, sign a mid-level free agent WR for half the price, get Bell under contract and still score what we scored this year.

The attempted changes while they might have happened were sparse and quickly abandoned. I never saw more than one or two attempts to be creative. I rarely saw any attempt to get up the middle with disguised blitzes.

Green Bay looked 10x worse aginst the Falcons than we did against the Falcons. We at least reached the endzone but Cobi Hamilton decided to be perennially worthless and drop every TD he had.

Brown is now a diva receiver and star diva recovers team seldom or never win a super bowl. If I'm Tomlin I privately tell him you can not do this and if needed I will bench you for s game ( Browns ).

On the radio yesterday, Tunch said they changed to a 4-3 stack in the second and it didn't work. Whatever the case, they got lit up. And so did the offense.

Your ending statement says it all. ONLY thing is CMT can't be their coach 1st. He doesn't have the capacity.

ONE more thing,........HE DISAPEARS. This game he was pretty much NON_EXIStANT. Great receivers find a way period.

That's a horrible strategy if true and even worse than sticking with the 3-4. No wonder Brady audibled to 5 wide so much and kept those guys out there by running no huddle. It would've been better if they switched to Tampa 2 with an extra DB, at least in theory the 2 safeties deep would prevent those big plays (if Mitchell and Golden ever stayed in position).

It pissed me off when Dupree (I think) said the fast pace of the Pats O threw them off. Really? Because they only do that almost every game. If they were THAT confused in the first half (which it looked like they were), you would think a timeout or two would've prevented total mass confusion like we saw. Yet we end the half with all 3 timeouts...I guess the coaches thought we get bonus points for that or something.

He seemed very ... emotionless all game. I think it goes back to being scolded for the Facebook streaming, and then not getting enough throws his way just added to that.

Not to excuse the guy for acting this way by any means but I'd be somewhat frustrated too if I was double and triple teamed the entire game. That can't exactly be fun. Now if it's true he pouted after DWill's TD then he's got issues and maybe we do too with deciding what to do with him. Now I'm wondering if against the Dolphins, Ben audibled to pass at the 5 to appease Brown?

Not sure I'd blame it on the young guys. Mitchell made the biggest blunder of the game biting on a flea flicker and Gay
was a step or two behind the guy he was covering. They don't have the personnel to play man to man right now. I believe
Burns could go man to man and Davis could go man to man on a TE, they need two more cover DB's and more experience.

I wanna agree with Drink Iron City, but Brown was double/triple teamed and groped like a tsa pat down all game. The pats were sending in two DB's to knock Brown on his ***
