Roethlisberger Struggles Are Killing Offense

Wait...the Steelers played down to the level of their opponents? That is SO unlike them!

I hear the Ravens are awful...get ready for more of the same! lol. 'OL Captain Cool Shades gonna let the standard be the standard!

Offense needs to kick it up.
Ben's part of the equation, but it's not just him.

Chicago was a game of missed opportunities really

That miss on the first pass to Bryant set the tone. He was wide open. Ben has been less than average so far this season for a guy of his stature. If he doesn't get his **** together we go nowhere.

If Ben were as bad as some of you think, you wouldn't be able to brag about Coach T never having a losing record.

The line can't run or pass block, Brown is the only reliable receiver and Bell has yet to show up, but Ben is killing the offense? He and Brown have done enough be 3-0, I can't say that about anyone else on offense. I'm starting to understand why Bradshaw hates Pittsburgh. The whole team needs to get their **** together, and if taking too many shots down field is killing the team, why aren't the coaches taking those options away? Ben is forcing things because the offense is nowhere near as good as some of you think. 30 ppg? 20 is more realistic until someone not wearing 84 steps up.

The Steelers are not getting ground yards. The running game is not keeping defenses honest so they are daring the Steelers to throw the ball; not even a balanced attack. Not sure but Bells absence from camp and four warm up games? Looks like it has come back to haunt the teams offense.

Ben didn't miss Bryant come up with something else to hate on him for. Closer I look the closer I blame Haley over Ben for the O's troubles.

Ben is definitely regressing as he ages...its obvious, even for those of us that dont want to admit it...

But he is still by far the best on the roster...

But as I have said many time previously...and with much disagreement and push back...

We should of made a play for Blake Bortels this off season..especially before his stock rose..

He would be a great fit for a post Ben Steeler offense..
He can make all the throws that young Ben could and with better mobility..
We would of not skipped a beat.

I wear my #7 jersey every Sunday. Doesn't mean his play has been impressive so far this season.

Bingo! The selfish Bell has torpedo this team. You simply cannot miss that much time and expect to pick right back up like last year.

Of course coach cool shades has a remedy for that. Run the wheels off. That will get him in shape. Wouldn’t think of using Connor.

First ball to Bryant was slightly overthrown, and later in the game a guy was open (forget who it was) and Ben led the receiver OB instead of toward the middle of the field. There are also plays where you can see underneath guys open, but either Ben does not see them or just tries for the bigger play. Without having a good tape it is hard to judge how Rodgers and company are doing when the ball is not getting thrown to them. Ben is off right now and the offense has no rhythm to get in a groove. The line is not playing well, Bell is not playing well, and we have taken some terrible penalties to kill drives. The first game the play calling was just plain terrible, second game seemed a little better, and hard to judge last game. If guys are open underneath and Ben is not throwing it to them then you cant blame Haley for that. Chicago couldnt seem to stop the crossing route to Brown and I would have ran them all game till they stopped it.

I've always maintained that Ben is at his worst, and it kills the team, when he is forcing passes. He does it often. And often times it feels like once he starts doing it in a game, he will do it the rest of the game. It's like you can tell from the first couple drives what kind of game Ben is going to have, and that is not a good sign.

But one thing I will say in defense of this is that, as coaches, if you know the weaknesses of your franchise QB, whose success dictates the fate of the entire team, how do you not figure out a way to neutralize this? I mean, Br*dy has lots of weaknesses as a QB and you rarely see them. I'm no coach, I'm not saying I have the answers, but I do think there has to be a way to coach, develop, and/or scheme around the tendencies we ALL know he has that can kill the team.

Unfortunately, you're absolutely right about being able to tell about Ben. On either the second or third series, Ben overthrew Bryant I believe it was, and we failed to convert the third down. My brother looked right at me and said "well, it's gonna be one of those Ben-throws-too-high games." Of course, it happened the rest of the damn gamble. Ben's predictable unpredictability is what makes him so damn frustrating at times.

The ball to Bryant was not over thrown, watch it again, right through his hands.
Hundreds of posts bitching about a QB with a 94 rating, 5 TDs, 1 INT. I'd say he's near the bottom of the list of what's wrong with this team.
Here's my take on Ben, he needs to get into a rythym, he needs to get in the he much like a wr that needs to get a pass early. That's why I say we need to be a pass first team, call some high percentage plays.

5 touchdown passes in 3 games is not good in today's NFL. Brady has 14 touchdowns. ..

I've said it for years.

Been never met a receiver too tall for him to over throw or one slow enough running a slant that he wasn't able to throw behind him.

Hopefully he corrects the situation.
