By Jess Costello SteelerNation.com Last Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers‘ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger*and teammates*spent hours with hundreds of football campers while feeding over 5,000 families through the Kraft Hunger Initiative. After tossing footballs around and entertaining the kids, Roethlisberger commented on the ‘new’ feeling in the Steelers’ locker room. “It’s been a little crazy the last few […]

I like these kind of write ups and it is a way different atmosphere than has been the last couple years. Here is a BEN quote from the story

“We’ll approach it a lot like we have any other season — we’ll get ready to go when it’s time in July,” Roethlisberger said. “Right now it’s not time, it’s time for us to enjoy some down time. When it’s time for this season, we’ll all be ready to go.”

He hits it right on the head, especially the ALL part, meaning everyone / entire team !!!!!!

Salute the nation

hopefully a distraction free camp will lead to a successful season.....
Ben can make the WRs on the team look better than they are. If Bush plays up to his expectations and we can get something out of the secondary, this team could surprise folks

I look at two S's that are basically in their second year at their position. If one or both improve which it is realistic to think one will happen that upgrades the secondary. Then it is reasonable to think Nelson will be a upgrade over Burns/Sens. And Hilton who wants a contract extension will be pushing hard.

I would actually be surprised if this positional group doesn't improve.

**** the calm....Bring the action

it would be pretty hard for them not to be better....

Yeah Coolie these young receivers all look up to Ben and are excited to be playing with a future HOF QB.
They know Ben can make them better and will take full advantage of him being their leader.
Not like that self serving little ****** that just left here and thought it was all about him.

This is all a great recipe for success. No self serving players where it’s all about them. No cutting your routes off short or Ben possibly forcing the ball to Little Chest. Hungry players looking to make a difference like JConn, JaySam, Snell,Washington and Moncrief. And no one giving us a chance since it’s about the Browns. As long as Cool Shades can keep the boys focused and determined, I like our chances.

I'm excited for a drama-reduced camp/season, but let's not act like Ben wasn't part of the problem with drama to begin with. He said so OFTEN in the last 6 months.

Do you think coaches like Jimmy Johnson or Big Tuna would ever have allowed such Me, Me, Me-ness with any players to begin with? Our head coach just can't hold the players to walk the line. Incompetent.

Jimmy Johnson are you ******* serious? Have you never read some of the **** that happened on those Cowgirls teams?

You mean like Michael Irvin (with Johnson) and TO with Parcells? Who was the last straw with Jerry’s interfering with Tuna caused him to quit altogether?

I guess it’s another “Straw man argument”

"Things?" Yes. Any significant team fractures? No. He knew what was tolerable and what wasn't. He'd have never allowed this turmoil to exist, period. All night coke parties? Sure, why not.

Irvin won 3 rings and was considered the key player in leading the team to its wins. What has AB ever done? Tuna had TO forced on him, and it was against his approach so much he quit over it. TO would never be added to the roster to begin with if Bill had his way. Cool Shades doesn't even have a clue compared to these 2 iconic coaches.

Was LT forced on him? Dude did what ever he wanted.

Your prior post spoke nothing of results only the selfishness of players, so what about Brown not winning anything, if he did it wouldn’t change your narrative. Irvin was a crackhead, philandering peacock whose attention needs became more public AFTER he retired. Social media didn’t exist then. Had it were, well it would have made TO proud.

So you agreeing that Tuna quit because of TO, so you are proving my point while contradicting yours.

In actuality TO was the final action of Jerry meddling in Parcells attempt to form the team to what he wanted. The owner wouldn’t allow it when the whole agreement to have Parcells coach there was to for ownership to stay out of the football operations.

I don't really care about other coaches or organizations. I know Tomlin didn't handle AB correctly. He allowed him to do what ever the hell he wanted and show up whenever he wanted. You can't allow that at any level of football. If Tomlin had put his foot down early maybe AB is humbled a bit and is still here? Who know. Even if he isn't I would never have allowed him to do as he pleased. Either he is in charge or he isn't.
