The Steelers are simply going into unchartered terror territory here…no team has ever had such immense pressure of these consecutive Tomlinships weighing on them before. Sustaining mediocrity like this is unheard of! Getting so close to the goal/destination of 20 consecutive Tomlinships which would also land the greatest HC ever atop the all time win list for HC of the greatest franchise ever….so much pressure, it’s gotta be crushing him. He simply had to make the move to get his guy for the run to 19 then only has to duct tape one more season together.

It will be refreshing to have someone that can read the damn field. I'm as excited about the season as a person can get with Tomlick still in charge.
 
I’m glad he signed and will be at the up-coming 3-day camp on Tuesday. It most certainly will help him but also as important, give the rest of the team to quit holding their breath.

Players will settle in much better whether they agree or disagree.

I thinking Aaaa-Ron will be better than anyone in the QB room, my question is for how long. A 17 game season will take its toll on an old body wear down, injury or not.

I hope our QB guru will be sightful enough to when to make the change, if needed before its to late and becomes an emergency.

I also hope Arthur Smith is allowed to actually open the dang offense up past the 6th grade level.

I will say one thing in his favor is that he has and always has had a quick release. If they IF they can get AA Rod to buy into that game manager play action run game it could be smooth sailing.

But how that Oline on the outside holds up will be one key. How much Mike’s hand is in the cookie jar will be another key.

I think we already know how much his hand will be in the cookie jar. It's more will he finally open a new cookie jar and not stick to the old jar full of now stale cookies.

The deal is in favor of the Steelers, from what I'm reading, and laced with incentives... somewhere in the 10mil range for base.

This also allows the Steelers to PAY TJ Watt on the market value he's expecting...

This is absolutely crazy talk.

You do realize that teams get paid to prepare for upcoming opponents via scouting, watching film, etc...

The game plan CANNOT be the same every week against every team!

I really can't believe how anyone , who watches weekly, can consistently blame just the HC for a bad game.

Players play. Coaches coach...

Noted but weak.

Yes, A-A Ron is aged.
Yes, he had a terrible Achilles injury 2 years ago.
Yes, he played behind an OL worse than our brand new OL of last year.
Yes, his WRs led the league in dropped passes.

While age is a factor - a QB can only play within their skillset and this new addition WILL BE in the HOF. Write that down.

He's QB1 now and with 2 capable backups behind him. I'd personally feel better with one more prolific threat on offense but, in the words of HC Tomlin, "the proverbial needle, if you will, is pointing up".

And in closing, A-A Ron is asking you to "R.E.L.A.X"...

You never can just blame a HC for one bad game, and there will be games lost it is a competitive league.


But when there is a playoff pattern of futility he will get to wear that badge. He can pin it on his breastasis , hang it from his sunglasses , wherever.
