Well, you are simply wrong as to Rudolph being deemed worth starting. The Steelers started him the last three games of the 2023 season and he went 3-0 with a 118.0 QB rating. The Titans started him 5 games last season and did something Tomlin seems incapable of doing, i.e., beat Miami (after taking over in the 1st quarter) and New England.

I don’t know what a solid season means any more in Pittsburgh. At one time it meant SB’s but now it appears to be non losing seasons.
I’m a guy that prefers building my team primarily through the draft and signing a FA to plug a hole to make my team better.
We at one time were masters of building through the draft but have lost that art.
What we have now is a 41 year old has been QB, multiple players from other teams, and various young guys that still have to prove themselves.
You also have multiple inferior coaches and a HC that is in charge of pulling it all together. The same guy managing the gameplan, making adjustments or not making adjustments, putting the right players in the best position to succeed, making critical game decisions.
What could possibly go wrong?

That last sentence is worth opening up a little.
When Cowher took over Noll’s team, he did great things, first six years division winner.
As Noll’s players left, Cowher’s new players slipped right in and remained extremely competitive, all the way to a SB at end of his career.
Tom Lin took over A SB contender Cowher team, did pretty good with those players.
As Cowher’s players left, the decline started.
Tom lin has been given generational talent and yet nothing but mediocre Tomlinships.
Remember that Cower gave him a franchise QB that played nearly Tomlin’s entire career.
I can See Cowher being ranked quite a bit higher than Tomlin as for all time coaches.
Cowher didn’t play for Tomlinships, he went for it all every year / season.
Cowher’s standard and Tomlin’s standard are different things at different levels, thus the difference in my all-time rankings.

Cowher is a better version of say our current rival Harbaugh
Whereas Mike is simply Marvin Lewis in a more stable situation with better assets
Cowher>Tomlin and it ain’t even that close
