Rodgers has a small fracture in left wrist

I’m very encouraged by our defenses performance yesterday, especially on the backend.
Whether it was the scheme or personnel changes, it looks much better than it did previously.
Caleb Williams is the dog that must be put down Sunday. His superpower is getting out of the pocket and going down field with splash plays…I can see our pressure packages working well and the back end continuing to play well, which will lead to a stealer win Sunday in Chicago.
I know it’s a little early in the week for a prediction, but most times in life your initial impression or thoughts are the most accurate ones…

I actually think the biggest challenge will be seeing how far the Steelers run D has come against a capable rushing attack. Ben Johnson is a very capable X and O guy. Steelers with their on and off again which side will be deficient this week will need to be up to snuff with the run defense.

I also do not want an age deficient QB that isn’t 100 percent healthy running the offense . One that came off a 50 percentile completion rate recently.

Was Sanders horrible when called upon? No. Was he elite? No.

The kid showed a lot of moxie and grit in the loss and he'll probably get a shot a QB1 for the next game - meaning actual practice prep with the 1s. If he looks horrible after that, perhaps your hate for him will be somewhat warranted...
25% completion percentage and 13.5 QBR?
AND
It looked even worse than the stat line.
You have some lofty standards:ROFLMAO:

Are you ******* kidding me. On what planet was he not horrible. His footwork is ***. Hes looking at the rush not down field and he has no timing. He looked ****** brutal. Like CFL brutal and thats not fair to some CFL Qbs

I hope you’re kidding about Howard. The odds of him having success now with no preseason snaps and few recent reps is pretty low.

His best chance is to get in some preseason games next year and build from there
The odds of Howard having success next year would be better if he gets his feet wet as an NFL quarterback this season. I'm not wishing injury on anybody, but I wouldn't be upset if Will got his chance sooner than later. And that would only help the Steelers in their assessment of him, giving them a better understanding of how to proceed in the future at the QB position.

Maybe late in the year once he’s actually practiced and traken some QB2 reps.

He’s been out hurt and not even practicing since early in camp. My understanding is that QB3 gets about 10 snaps or less in a practice this time of year. There’s no way he’s ready

He’s more likely to crash and burn with no reps and we wouldn’t even get a fair look at him.

My point is probably moot because we know Tomlin would sign a vet off the street before turning it over to Howard this year because that’s how Tomlin operates for better or worse

Very true.
You know that Skyler Thompson would be back in a heartbeat!

I see reports today it’s a small fracture and Rodgers is pushing to play Sunday.

I’m torn on this. I guess I lean towards letting it heal for at least a week and letting Rudolph cook in Chicago. If they can’t beat the Bears with Rudolph they don’t deserve to go to the playoffs IMO

My guess is he will be out there if the doctors allow it

Howard's been practicing since October 22nd, and I assume he'll be taking some if not all of the QB2 reps this week. He's an intelligent kid, and this offense isn't exactly rocket science.

We know what Rodgers is, and we know what Rudolph is. We won't know jack shlt about Will Howard at the NFL level until he plays. But you are probably right about Tomlin. He'll also no doubt encourage AR to get back on the field as soon as possible. Whatever it takes to get to 8-8-1.

Rumor had it, at the top of the season, that the upcoming draft, in Pittsburgh, would be the draft we could hang our collective hats on for the "next Ben"...

Not gonna happen.

Now, the year after should be a QB rich draft with at least 4 blue chip QBs. Now for the curve ball...

With the oldest roster in the league and a boat load of picks in '26 - would it not be better to stockpile some of next year's picks to move up in '27???

I do not like the idea of C C Ron playing next week and Rudy is a great backup. Not sure about anointing young Howard just yet either...

I dont think there are odds on that. It just happens organically if the player is talented, is ready and has a supporting cast.

Isn't that what they said about this year's QB class?

Personally, I would use the pick given and hopefully some fall your way. Get younger with those picks and take another QB if one drops to you, but not take that trade way up move. Then go with Rudy, Howard, a vet and the rookie. Best man wins.

This means they have a fukton of picks to get the guys you need across the board.

They will never do that though, because it puts the Tomlinships at risk.

Speaking of the 2027 draft, now that he is actually playing, is Arch Manning still going to the NFL Hall of Fame?

I do not care about Shudder Sanders or the Browns.
I do however care about the QB situation here and think Rodgers has not played well the last couple games and now the injury.
Aaron has played better than I expected this season but he’s almost 42 and we most likely have seen his best play. I don’t think it gets better!
Mason for whatever reason does well when he’s inserted into the lineup.
He didn’t light it up yesterday but he did his job and was efficient.
I would give Mason first team snaps and let him start against the Bears and let Aaron take time to heal but I’m sure that’s not what will happen.
Bears have a young and aggressive defense that will offer challenges to whomever is our QB.
The Bears defence may be young and aggressive, but it's not very good. Near the bottom in points per game, pass touchdowns and yards per pass attempt, and bottom half on sacks. And they have not really played many good quarterbacks. Where the Bears defence does well is turnovers - most interceptions and near the top in fumbles recovered.

There should be a " Guess Sheduers next pro team in Canada or will he just retire" thread.

It definitely doesn’t look like there is a for sure stud QB in this years draft, especially where we will end up picking.

Ill take the Grey Cup winning Sa-sk-at-chew-an Roughriders!
Grata on defeating those dastardly........who'd they play?

Did they have ski-doos doing back flips at halftime again this year?

Did everyone from Saskaberry invade the Regina to pound the celebration home, or did ya just **** around at home?

I think Dante Moore is going to stay for another season at Oregon, and he'll be a fine choice for some team in 2027. The QBs coming out next year don't impress me, either.

I'm not anointing Howard. I just wouldn't mind seeing how he looks in an NFL game.

I think that getting starting NFL experience and all of those things you mentioned there are not mutually exclusive. Never said they should force Howard into the lineup. Said I wouldn't mind if it happened due to injury.

It was a pretty good day. Watched Washington Truck the **** out of three Bungle defenders. Then the Riders beat the Alouettes. Its kinda interesting. We are a province of 1 million total.
JV team I coach won cities. undefeated.
Senior Team won Provincials undefeated.
Riders won Grey Cup.
Our City Junior Team (I guess kinda equivalent of Junior College) won Western Canada (many kids I coached)
Our University team (with several kids I coached) is playing in the National Championship next Saturday.
For a little province that's pretty damn good.
* oh and it was Machine Gun Kelly at halftime. The backflip skidoo guys might have been better*
