Riddle me this

The pressure up front combined with the additions in the secondary have fixed our issues. If our offense will get out of it's on way we should have a good run this year.

And we also have the best pass defense in the NFL and #2 overall defense. I don't care if they play zone, man, 3-4, 4-3, or 10-1 as long as it works. Additions to secondary have definitely improved things. To beat Br*dy you either need to pressure him (which we've never done effectively), or cover the receivers long enough that he runs out of time (never done that effectively either). This year we might have a chance.

I can think of a clear exception to your statement, Ron:

October 30, 2011.

Harassed Brady all game, sacked him 3 times, held the Patsies to 213 total yards, pressured him, held him to less than 6 yards per attempt.

I think this is the game where Brady said that he was surprised at what we did and they were not ready for it. We played tight and aggressive and it worked. Not sure why they have not went back to that and at least try it. Pats seem to be finding their was so it wont be as easy as it seemed earlier in the year. However I think this is probably the worst team the Pats had in several years.

That was one of the better Steeler games I've ever watched as a fan. Now, I'm 28 so I wasn't able to partake in the 70s, and I was young lad during the 90s. But, man, the Steelers completely changed their system for a week, and it worked ******* wonders. I'll never understand why they never tried to recapture what they had in that game from a defensive standpoint. Of course, it also helps when you posses the football for 40 minutes. That game was not as close as the score indicates; we totally took it to them. To me, this was more gratifying than 2008 simply because the ***** started this game.

Actually I remember that but I was just trying to be brief. Also worth mentioning that they never went back to that the other times we've played them and got our *** kicked.
No salary cap on coaches. If I'm the Rooneys I tell Coach Shades that there's an extra $1 million in his paycheck every time he beats the Pats*****.

Stafford just threw for 423 yards, with no touchdowns. Brady finishes those drives.

Pats won't be coming off a bye, and yinz are assuming the Steelers will play the Pats the same way/ same approach.

Not so sure.

I actually think this game was a win-win for our defense in preparation of Brady...

Stafford can make all the same throws and is similar to Brady in how he plays the position and his tendencies..

The win-win was that first we won the game, and two we discovered that we probably do NOT want to scheme for Brady and the Pats in the same way..

I think Stafford has a bigger arm and more mobile

Not so sure what coming off a bye has to do with the price of beans in China, but yes, I'm assuming the Steelers will continue to run their same zone defense against New England and every other team, because that's what they've done over and over again during Tomlin's "we do what we do" tenure.

You don't think a fresh team, a week to heal any minor injuries, two weeks to prepare has a advantage?

I think you will see some zone against the Pats. I also think they will mix it up more this time with other schemes.

We'll see.
