Rg3

i blame Shanhan for leaving RG3 in the game. Punk *** move with your franchise Qb. RG3 rehabs and comes back in the league way too soon and they try to make him more of a pocket passer, kinda like kordell Stewart and how did that work out? New head coach and new offensive scheme under Gruden doesn't fit RG3s style. The Eagles, panthers, Seahawks, and 49ers are the only teams running an offense that he would fit into, and even then, barely with his limited mobility and lack of endurance.

RGIII never had a chance and he is pretty much done. He was put in a position to fail and he did.

Position to fail?

The kid could not have been put into a better situation to succeed. The Shannahans basically adopted the Baylor playbook to accommodate Griffin his rookie year, but the kid refused to evolve and get better as the league adjusted to that juvenile scheme.

Given all the picks the Redskins ultimately used on the kid, he has arguably become as big a bust as Ryan Leaf.

1) Yes, giving up picks to get him puts less talent around him and in a better position to fail. It is the opposite of what you are seeing with Bradford right now. He SUCKED in St. Louis and looks like Montana in Philly. Same player, just more talent around him.
2) He needed 2-3 years to transition into a pocket passer. Until that time he needed to supported with a good OL, decent WRs and a solid running game. That was erratic at best.
3) He is a baby. Nobody, outside of those who really know him, could have predicted how mentally weak he was. This can't be fixed and will be the primary reason he washes out of the NFL.

All that combined with a penchant for taking stupid hits and he is done. I LOVED him as a college player but he is done as a pro. He is a bigger bust than Ryan Leaf IMO based on the trade.

So they took a player that needed years to adapt, that needed talent around him, and started him right away. Yes, a position to fail.

Your nuts. So when BB had his busted nose, or mcnab had his fractured ankle, or countless other NFL players playing with a significant injury would allowed to be pulled. Not happening. If you can play, and you feel like you can play. They play. It's not the coach, it's the player. That would be the only thing I give rg3 credit for. He manned up and gave it his all for his team. Yes he was ****** up, but he gave his all. To blam where he is now on that is wrong.

He sold his coach out after that. Caused him to be fired and realizes now that was probably his only chance at being an NFL qb

He was rookie of the year.

The Shannahans went out of their way to make Griffin's transition to the pro game as easy as possible for him. Griffin was simply too arrogant and stupid to build upon it. He had success with the early stuff, so he totally resisted the coaching aimed at both expanding his game and preparing him for long term success in the NFL.

The kid is a douche, which is why Shannahan and son could no longer stand him and proceeded to bench him near the end of their second season together.

I've can never recall a head coach publicly calling out a QB to the extent Jay Gruden has repeatedly called out Griffin. That, in itself, says something about the player.

And oline that will not help him up after his *** is laying on the turf.

He is the best QB in the NFL at getting hurt... and probably the best with the last name Griffin... heck he would likely be in the hall of fame of people named Griffin....

This Griffin approves:

To be fair, Foles looks pretty good in St Louis. Bradford has always had the talent to be a good QB, but could never stay healthy long enough to show it.

Playing him when he was hurt probably contributed to screwing up his development as well.

Not arguring he is a not douche and/or too mentally weak to be a an NFL QB though.

If playing hurt screws up development then there would be no developed QBs.

More specifically, when you have a QB that relies on this legs and you play him knowing he has a ****** up leg - that's going to mess him up.

yeah, because why would he want to develop other parts of his game while his legs are less than 100%? That's just stupid

Nothing wrong with RG3 that a year off to heal up and a change of scenery wouldn't fix.

That's a whole different problem. They knew (at least I assume they knew) it was going to take 3-4 years for him to develop a pocket game (e.g. McNabb) so putting him out there was just stupid. When you draft a player like that (more athlete then QB) then you have to assume the risks and accept the time involved. Even though McNabb was clearly the better athlete the Eagles put Doug Pederson out there to get the OL stable and the running game going to buy time before they put their high round pick in there. Can't remember how long but it was like half a season.

The way McNabb was handled (who was also a spoiled, high pick, athlete, baby, dumbass, etc.) and RG3 was handled were diametrically opposite. Not that McNabb was all that great but I bet the Skins would take that development over what they got out of RG3.

The Eagles protected McNabb with a dominant OL (Runyan, Thomans, among others), great RBs (Staley and Westbrook in their prime), and a simple offence until he was 3-4 in the league. Could RG3 have been good if he was brought along the same way? I have no idea but I can tell you what they did was destined to fail. I'm kinda ashamed to admit that I enjoyed watching the train wreck.

The Skins paid too much to get him, started him right away, and that was the begining of the end. RG3 was simply not mentally or physically read for long-term success in the NFL.

I am rooting for irony to come full circle when the Rams pick him up as a free agent...

The Bills and Redskins exchanging Manuel for RG3 seems like an easy trade to make. Manuel is signed for 2 years with an option for the 3rd. RG3 is signed for this year, and the Bills can either cut him before his guarantee for 2016 vests, or work out a new deal.

Heard on the radio the Skins picked up RG3's option for next season...$16 mill. There is a clause in it that guarantees the contract if he is injured. They said absolutely no team will touch him because of that clause.
