I don't think the Dolphins would spend their 18th on him seems a little high.

I would agree...IF...Tua wasn't their QB. The picks I'm assuming Miami takes in the first - Devonte Smith (WR) and if possibly Najee Harris (RB). It would piss me off but I could see it happening...

Harris is very similar to Le'veon. Both patient runners, both have good hands and can route run. Neither of them have great breakaway speed, Harris probably slightly more athletic.
I think Lev may be a little more twitchier with cuts and foot work.

There was a report during the season the Steelers were doing their homework on the top picks in the draft. If he's there at 24, I'd be surprised if the Steelers passed him and I'd be happy with the pick. However, offensive line is still the biggest need by far and I am a firm believer you can find excellent backs in the second round. My biggest problem is you often see running backs as one-contract players, so you better be getting a back who is going to give you 8 years of good football if you're taking one in the first round.

This draft is light on special RBs IMO. But not light on Tackles. That could come into play depending on who is sitting there come the pick. Remember at 24 you aren't getting the best or the second best tackle. But you might be able to get the best RB on the board. We'll see. I like some RBs that are slated for round two too. How many Ts picked early could dictate their pick.

But the stillers have no one to block for him. What's the point? Pick up a couple OL in the first couple rounds, then take the best RB that's left.
Well by round three there might be nothing left greater than what Conner brought to the table. Just not as high tier deep as the tackles in this class.

You can still go T in 1 or 2. I think in this draft we will see pick 1 be a RB or T then in 2 will be what wasn't picked in 1. Value wise I could really see it lining up like that. Especially if they trade down. Just depends on how the chips fall.
Makes sense.

I suppose when I look in the first round I try to get a realistic feel for the team. The Steelers aren't Super Bowl contenders for at least the next few years, which will oddly enough waste away a championship level defense (when healthy). That's not to say they can't compete for the playoffs, but they need to upgrade the talent on offense. It's going to be tempting to take the flashy running back. Harris has the size and the highlight film to get anyone excited. He also got to run behind a line full of bulldozers. The Steelers are gonna line up some Tonka trucks on the offensive line next year unless they bring in some blue chippers. Offensive linemen are the foundation to a retooled offense and will help set the tone being physical in the trenches again. A first-round running back is the flashy piece to help elevate an already good offense.

OL, TE in Rds one and two. ILB or OLB depth in Rd 3. Chubba Hubbard in Round 4. Gotta keep Conner though in this scenario because I wonder about Hubbard's durability also. Hubbard had a fantastic 2019. He could have been one of the top backs taken if he had come out last year. He bet on himself and lost, because he was limited by injury in 2020.

TE in 2? Man there is some serious question marks with this class. Not sure the value is there. Maybe 3 - 5.

I'd be happy if they went some combination of T & G in rounds 1 and 2. But, they do have to address the TE position either through the draft or FA.
But, I do think if Harris is gone, they wait until Rds 3 or 4 to address RB, that puts someone like Hubbard or Sermon in play. I like both in that area of the draft and no Sooner (see what I did there?).

I said it a while ago that I would run to the podium if he is there at 24. If he runs well, I just don't think he will fall that far. I wasn't thinking of TE but if the TE from Florida falls to us, he would be another skill player I would take. He can do everything the great TE's in the league currently do and he is a more than capable blocker. At RB, I'd also consider Etienne in the 1st.

Darrisaw from VT, Slater from NW, Little from Stanford, Mayfield from Michigan, Duntz from NDST, Leatherwood from Bama, Sam Cosmi from Texas, Tevin Jenkins from Okie ST. Eichenberg from ND are tackles worth looking at. Brown from Bama, Kreamer for ND, Vera-Tucker from USC, Hainsey and Banks from Notre Dame, Anderson from Texas Tech, Carman from Clemson, Smith from Tennessee at Guard. Dickenson from Bama, Morrisey from Pitt, Lindstrom from BC, Tucker from Kentucky, Meyer from OSU, Hill from Georgia, Humphrey from OU at Center. Pretty deep OL draft.

I love Eitienne, but I think he'd be lackluster behind our OL. I'd rather have Williams or Gainwell in the second. Here's a good breakdown of what Williams brings to the table.

Love Williams. Gainwell has some explosive capabilities too. I think you can't go wrong with either but after those two I think there is a drop off. I wouldn't mind the Steelers moving up in 2 to secure one of them if they didn't go RB in 1.

If I could do backflips and cartwheels I would, but I'm not until the pick actually happens...
