Report: Ray-Ray McCloud Resigns With Team On One-Year Deal

Wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud and the Pittsburgh Steelers have come to terms on a one-year deal:

The #Steelers have agreed to terms with WR/return man Ray-Ray McCloud on a one-year deal, source said. McCloud played in every game last season, starting two, and now stays in Pittsburgh.

McCloud, a restricted free agent, was a splash playmaker on special teams as a punt returner last season. He will look to build off a solid 2020 campaign heading into next season.

Solid signing for ST and WR 4 or 5. Finally a quality kick and punt returner. Played far better than what most thought. IMO definitely not an option to replace Juju as some have speculated.

I’m liking this signing too. I read where we are currently at 6.1 million under the cap if accurate so maybe they restructure DeCastro and Tuitt to add a few mil more. Someone you would think gets cut, either Bince or Ebron would be my guess. Then out of the guys you hate to lose group; Bud, Hilton, Sutton, Spillane, and Ju Ju they have to at least sign Spillane and Hilton or Sutton. Would be nice to lock up all three.
I’m afraid Bud and Ju Ju would be to expensive with not enough cap room.

Right now, he is our starting slot receiver. And we got him for right around $1M. If we tendered him (since he was a RFA), he would have cost $2.1M. Big savings right there for a quality 3 way player.
