Cornerback Mike Hilton has left the Pittsburgh Steelers on the second day of tampering, and is heading to the Cincinnati Bengals:

The #Bengals aren’t done. They’re signing former #Steelers CB Mike Hilton, source said.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2021

Hilton was a key contributor to the Steelers defense over the last 4 seasons, accumulating 9.5 sacks and 7 interceptions over that time. He was also a force on the run defense.

We wish Mike all the best as he heads to Cincinnati for a fresh start in his career.

Sorry to see this happen especially staying within the division.

Does this mean WJIII will be available?

Possible Litos. William Jackson will not come cheap though so Haden would have to be cut or even Nelson but someone goes, that’s for sure.

Going to miss Hilton's well-timed blitzes and strong run support.

Tough to see him go yet tougher to see him go to Cincinnati. Hope he brings his $.25s for towels and soap in the locker room....

Tomlin to concerned with what coaches have not been hired and lost a key man in this defense

Any numbers on this yet? I can't believe the bengals gave him a shitload.

I read 4 years $24 million. I don't think the Bengals will use him the same way the Steelers did...I also hope they don't.

I still would've cut Haden to keep Sutton and Hilton.

This one hurts cause they had a couple of different points where they should have easily been able to sign him to an extension benefitting both parties.

Fully agree. . We will see how much he has left in the old tank. I hope he surprises me but I think he will lose even more of a step this year.

I suspect this is the loss that will hurt us the most.
I don't see it this way. He was suspect in coverage. Sutton arguably was the better option in regards to the pass. If I had to pick a candidate who the Steelers will miss it is easily Bud. As Bud developed into a complete LBer. That won't be easy to replace.

Losing Bud impacted the last stretch of the season

Hilton made splash plays but he was definitely suspect in coverage. Sutton I think is the better DB while Hilton was a better blitzer. Hopefully they can find a similar talent in the draft to restock our depth.

Might already be on the team.

and those who thought Haden should be cut for hilton to stay .............. Coverage skills and Haden is our best coverage guy on the team.
