Report: Former first-round QB Lynch visiting Steelers

Hmmm, a guy who threw for nearly 13,000 yards and 72 TD's over 5 years with a career passing rating 88.9 absolutely sucks? A QB with 2,300 rushing yards and 13 rushing TD's, 17 runs of 20+ yards absolutely sucks?

In his first playoff game threw for 263 yards and two TD's and rushed for 181 yards with two rushing touchdowns. This guy absolutely sucks? Passed for 300 yds & scored two TD's in the SB, the guy absolutely sucks?

Ok, understood. Thanks for the reply.

How about a guy that threw for 14,700 yards with 2874 yards rushing, 38 rushing Tds, 77 passing Tds? Would that QB suck?

He's no Elway, or Farve...but come on...he's better than most any FA QB and has been for the past few years, since being blackballed by the league.

We all know why Kaepernick is loathed by so many. It has little to do with football. In any case it's a moot point, he ain't coming here so ya'll can climb down from the ledge.

Yep, complete with his sub 50.0 QBR. There is a reason the 49ers demoted him before he ever started protesting.

He sued the NFL and won millions from them. No matter what any of us think about him professionally or personally is rather moot. No NFL team will bring him in. It would be a slap in the face to Goodell and what owner wants that?

Wow...still butt hurt about the dog thing???

And I'm not out here holding signs up to sign Kap or anything, just saying in the hypothetical sense, Vick coming to the burgh was much worse than if they were to sign Kap. Vick was guilty of some atrocious acts. Kap is guilty of having opinions that polarize Americans.

Pride, here are his career QBR numbers

2012 98.3
2013 91.6
2014 86.4
2015 78.5
2016 90.7

Maybe my eyes are getting bad, but not seeing that sub 50 QBR you're throwing out there. Btw I don't give two ***** about Kaepernick, just bugs me people aren't man enough to admit the reason they hate the guy. If it was strictly football, he'd be considered a middling C+/B- QB of which there are many scattered around the league.

He's talking about that QBR ESPN assigned to QBs a while back. I still like to use the classic passer rating formula.

I see, the same rating they have Big Ben in the mid 60's over the years. In fact, Ben had a 45.7 QBR in 2008, 58 in 2013, 61 in 2016. So yeah, it doesn't surprise me Kap was in the 60-70's his first four seasons, then dipped under 50 his last two. Not sure what that proves, besides what I've already stated, that Kaepernick is/was a middling, so-so, average QB before being excommunicated for his political activism.

But he's also nowhere near being an absolutely terrible QB, as some are insinuating.

Btw, for all our comfort, I checked the QBR for the man of the hour, our most recent signing Paxton Lynch. Hide the women and children.

2016 23.3
2017 33.1

Hopefully he comes in and picks up our system and helps out in the QB room. I'll give Fichtner one thing, he seems to be pretty good with QB's, so maybe that'll rub off on Lynch. At least he won't be kneeling to protest police brutality in our inner cities, he's got that going for him.

Lynch isn't demanding starting QB positions or starting QB money either.

If Lynch can be a good sideline coach for the young Mason Rudolph, that's all we need. If it gets to the point that he'd have to actually play, it's already over and it's ugly.

Hopefully the guy helping Mason on the sidelines is Ben. Pax has precious little experience himself.

Is it his pocket awareness, throwing motion, lack of footwork, ability to go through his reads, arm strength...what is it about Kaepernick that bothers you?

Play-wise:
he's a one-gimmick QB who's now older and slower, can't read a defense, makes terrible decisions within the opportunity of giving flight to the ball to an open teammate, and has been out of football for too long to be able to "knock the rust off" in order to help any team

Off-field:
He's a circus distraction with his entourage and is too polarizing of a player due to his openly displayed beliefs.

oh, wait. I described Tim Tebow. Or would you be ok bringing him in?

That is awesome. Took me about 5 seconds to figure out who you were referring to, at which point I knew you had scored a direct hit.

Derp. Yeah, brain fart there.

And I'm quoting the wrong posts. I'll get someone at work to douse me with ice cold water or something.

Fair enough, legit answer.

Bingo.

Both Tebow and Krap were considered polarizing. One because he was a virgin and a Christian and that doesn't fit in today's Liberal-run world (aka he's the devil) and Krap because he wore pig socks, his fiance is a BLM leader, and disrespects the flag.

Both "could" play the game. Both had limited abilities.

ONE is STILL talked about today, 2.5 years since he last took a snap and sued the NFL, as a guy that SHOULD be brought back to play the game. One is not.

I wonder why?

Krap was demoted by the 49ers because he could no longer effectively lead the team and his on the field play had diminished severely.

If the Gods said, you have to pick one of these two to bring to the Steelers, I'm taking Tebow with 100 out of 100 choices. Why? He's a natural leader. He's inspirational. He's a TEAM player. He will take direction.

Thank God we don't have to pick either.
