Had the league caved to him, they would have had to cave to LOTS of folks and in 5 or 6 years when AB is suing the **** out of the league for concussion related injuries they will STILL be saying, "**** that guy!"

Jerry Rice played with HOF's Joe Montana and Steve Young for the bulk of his career and AB has had Ben so both benefit from above average QB play
Jerry Rice continued to put up numbers after going to the Raiders in the twilight of his career...... AB as a Raider yet to be seen

Both are known for practice and work ethic
Jerry performed at a high level throughout his career .... AB has only played well for half as many years
One thing I am sure of ... Jerry Rice is glad AB didn't choose San Fran and is happy that AB's antics continue to take any focus off of him backing AB in the first place

The entire "Ben threw guys under the bus" narrative was always bullshit.
He said about Washington, "Those are catches you've GOT to make in this league." He wasn't throwing Washington under the bus. He was simply telling the truth.
He said about Brown, "If he runs that route a little shallower, the DB isn't in a position to break it up." He ALSO said in the EXACT SAME SENTENCE, ", but I never should have thrown that ball."
ALL He was doing was responding to the comment that even if the DL hadn't caught the ball, the DB was in position to make a play on it. He was saying, "Well, the DB shouldn't have been there, but I ****** up. I shouldn't have thrown the ball in the first place."
The only guy he "threw under the bus" was himself.

Florio was talking today on tv. Said he thinks it was all about ego and how he looked in the newer style helmet. He said some players look like the Great Gazoo in them and he thinks that is playing a part.
