The saving grace for the franchise was son Dan when he took over the operations and worked with people like Bill Nunn, Chuck Noll, and others.

Like I said earlier, never.
Shades has a job for life, or at least as long as Deuce is in charge, and he knows this. Deuce is not going to be the Rooney who fires their Rooney Rule head coach.
I'm just kicking back to watch how bad it gets.
Guaranteed the Steelers never win another SB with Shades and there is a VERY good chance they never win another playoff game with him either.
At least here we are mercifully free from members of the Tomlin Fan Club, unlike social media.

You also have to remember just because the fans get their wish of a reboot it doesn’t mean the next coach will be any more competent. Which Rooney makes that choice?

As I hope for a coach reboot I am hoping for a Mr. Rooney reboot. As I am not convinced his mindset changes in the aftermath.

For me it isn’t the amount of picks the club has it is who is steering the ship. The right captain can do more with less, what we have now is less with less but hey look at this new throwback uniform.

There are still a couple Tomlin fan club guys here.

I think last season seriously reduced the number of people here who support or defend him to any degree.

Most people here who support him do it for non football reasons

I want him gone. But I support him during the season.
Off season with no emotion I want them to go 0-17 just to get him gone. Then the games start and I cannot help but hope they win every week.

I am smart enough to know they should just lose and get the change needed.
But I am to emotionally involved when the games matter. I have been cheering for these guys since I can remember. Hard to turn that off

It's getting closer to happening: an all out rebellion of Clown-lin being head coach. It's happening. And Art II can't hide from it much longer like when the fans gave him no choice of dumping Canada. The chanting at the Pens game was epic. We need something of the sort for Clown-lin to be pushed out. Don't even give Art a choice. Chant fire fire Clown-lin. F--- Tomlin yelling at a fan "I'm F--ing working here." No you aren't , not for much longer.

In the FB groups (I left all but two) and X it's crazy.
Typical exchange:
Black fan, for no apparent reason: "Mike Tomlin, never a losing season in 18 years, greatest coach ever!"
White fan: "I dunno, he's only won playoff games in 4 seasons out of 18."
Black fan: : "See? White people are racist."

I root for them during the actual games (under hating Clown-lin under my breath.) It's hard to change emotion on the spot. But during times like losing 5 in a row and losing (getting spanked by the Ravens) it gets easier. During the moronic coaching moves, it does get easier.
