when we had a receiver almost get 100 yards a game? Yancey Thigpen??
or god forbid a QB almost had 200 yards passing?
we crossed our fingers if our back or receiver sniffed 1000 yard seasons?

But the D always crushed it though

wow

Im going to find a pig pen and swim in ****

Good post man...

Hell....I remember the days if a "flanker" had 40 receptions for the year, it was a milestone..

And no....I ain't that old!! :)

Absolutely, the game has gotten so much more technical and the rules so liberal that 100 catch seasons are commonplace... 136, however... that's pretty good in any day and age

wow,..........GREAT THREAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! memory lane

Holiday's over...but my Steelers are alive and well..

After the game today one of the links on here led me to a YouTube of the steelers playing the Rams for their forth ring. I was all of 20 years old then. It's funny how I remembered certain plays like the Bradshaw draw for a big 3rd down, and of course Stallworths 2 long bomb catches. Lynn Swan injuring his neck as well, and the Rams playing us tough. I had almost forgotten about Gunslinger Terry's 3 interceptions. Lambert's brute physicality. One of my favorite Steelers of all time Mel Blount was in his 10th year. What a player. Gonna watch the Steelers beat the **** out of the Vikings next....as a very young team.

It's important for us Steeler fans to step back I think. Watch the old teams play. Can you imagine if the forum was back then with Bradshaw throwing three picks in the game. I can only imagine the amount of people coining the phrase the "big dummy" well before Big Ben was born.
