That S21M in dead money sure would have come in handy

Figures.....Ingram is gonna smash for them 3 years at 15 million is pretty damn reasonable.....Damn, wish we got him for that

If the Steelers gave Thomas that everyone here would be bitching, "why did we pay a 30 year old safety who hasn't played a full season since 2015 30+million guaranteed".

Thomas hasn't finished the last 3 years, quite a bit to pay someone that might not stay healthy.
Ingram was good value.

That is coming off injury.

Not to forget they lost what 4 D players?

Not sure one aging S makes up for that.

Lol...**** that broken little body.

ownership and the front office no longer give a **** about competing.

enjoy fighting it out for the bengals for 3rd place in the division. **** this team

Are you talking to Steelers fans or Ravens fans?

Steelers fans of course, don't you know, we should've signed Mosley, OBJ, and Earl Thomas by now.

you're right.
why sign players who actually belong in the nfl? that's just stupid.

There is this thing called the salary cap. Teams like the Jets, Jags, Browns, Raiders, this year the Ravens usually have no talent they are currently paying so they can run out every year and blow cap space like it's nothing. That usually gets them no where.

the standard is the standard

Really ******* sick of watching the Ravens pick up great veterans to fill holes while we sit on our hands and sign middling players. I call bullshit to those of you writing this off due to his injury--everyone was happy when we signed man-of-glass Morgan Burnett.

We've sat here and watched them get good value out of:

-Eric Weddle
-Tony Jefferson
-Brandon Carr
-Elvis Dumervil
-Daryl Smith
-Anquan Boldin
-Steve Smith Sr.
-Even Mike Wallace at the price he commanded

Thanks for everything, Ben, sorry the only real FA win we ever had was Joe Haden on the cheap cuz the Browns are dumb and the Steelers couldn't give a **** about winning.

They also traded their best QB to Denver for a 4th.

Thomas is Risky with his injuries and he’s getting old. But safety is a position where i’d rather have a smart player a step slow than a fast guy who gets out of position. He’s pretty much replacing Weddle so this isn’t a huge improvement unless Thomas plays like he did 5 years ago.

Ingram doesn’t worry me. He’s good but not great. The saints replaced him with Latavius Murray which tells you how they felt about him. He’ll be effective in what will probably be a run heavy read option type scheme, but i think just about any competent back would be productive there.

Amen

They lost their best QB, best two pass rushers, their best defensive player, but all you ******* want to do is drool over them signing a 30 year old safety who hasn't played a full season since 2015 and giving him 32 million guaranteed and a 29 year old RB.

Anything that helps them get back to “cap” he’ll. They get rid of one cap hit and bring in another.......... ok. The Steelers generally have talent worth paying and thus are usually up against the cap. That is what keeps them drafting 20 -32. As with this “down “ year, not even making the playoffs, they draft at 20. For those of you who don’t realize it it is quite a challenge managing the “cap “ space and the balance of players needed. Not all players can be HOFers.

Thomas is barely even trade replacement for weddle and I think he cost more than weddle so there is that.

Salute the nation

Notic all the big changes from other team in our division and we continue to sit on our hands, wait we do re sign some players that in all reality would not be missed.

every signing can't be a pro bowl player.
Earl Thomas played 15 games in 2017, he had 7 passes defensed and 59 solo tackles, 2 INT, Sean Davis in his first season as a FS this past season had 7 passes defensed and 59 solo tackles, 1 INT.

So we bash Davis for the most part here, but now we're supposed to weep because Baltimore gave 32 million to a much older and less athletic Sean Davis?

Baltimore is going nowhere with Jackson at QB. They were done the second they drafted him unless the defense is a carbon copy of the 2000 version. Jackson and that offense isn't going to score much. They better get a defense quick.
