Rats/chargers

Official, Flacco done in Baltimore

Its Tebow Jacksons team now

That sounds racist like the scout who said Jackson should play WR. I believe it was a charger scout and when Balt beat them a few weeks ago, the media basically said take that you racist scout!

Pointing out that he can’t read defenses and he’s a terrible passer is not allowed. And don’t bring up his low wonderlic score. He’s a franchis QB. It’s been decided.

LOL... I don't mind being called anything so I'm good. If that scout saved SD from drafting him as a QB he should get a raise. Seriously, anybody that watched him in college (like i did) knew he'd be a project in the NFL as a QB. He can't read a defense (go watch him against Bama a couple years ago), his arm strength is good but it is inconsistent at best, he fumbles a lot, and last but not least you can't run in the NFL.... sorry you just can't. Running gets you killed in the NFL.

I'm glad they got him. They'll be stuck with him for years just like the Steelers were stuck with Kordell for years. Always needing a great defense, special teams and OL to make the playoffs only to be beat by a team with a real QB.

Things been ugly on here for a while. Go over to Ravens 24 7 forum and enjoy the venom spewed on each other.

LMAO! That board is hilarious.

So many idiots making the same excuses for Jackson that the Kordell fanboys used to make here: Bad Oline, no running game, receivers never open, playcalling sucks. Ravens were actually -2 in passing yards for the 1st three quarters LOL

I remember being so happy when they signed Flacco to that stupid contract, now they are making this guy their starter...perfect!

Exactly. They have to play him and then he'll be good enough to win just enough games to make them think "Just wait till next year"... it's like a drug that keeps bringing people back in. Everybody said "If the OC could just re-work the offense around Kordell"... the issue is that he can't pass. You can't win in the NFL if you can't pass. There is no offense for that.

Glad to see the defense is back in these playoffs.

So you better think twice about shipping off the best WR in the game.

Like I said in another. Let the end of the post season go nothing is happening till summer. We got the leverage. If he wants to be great, play with Ben. If he wants to be an *** and demand a trade. ....we got two firsts, or sit his ***

The difference is that Kordell could actually throw from the pocket a little bit.

I wanted Kordell replaced, but I never felt like the Steelers were running a military academy offense when he was playing.

I have no clue what the hell the Ravens saw in Jackson to trade up for him, He did not blow them away in the interview process. That's for sure.

I believe they will try to make Jackson into a pocket passer because they know this will not work in the long run. They will not be a threat for the foreseeable future. Their defense was amazing but largely based upon scheme. That cant work forever either.

We did have 2 1,000 yard receivers in one season under Kordell

Kordell had Bettis here his entire career. He also had a life time average of a 70 passer rating. He was a horrible passer. He had 77 TDs with 84 Ints. If not for the defense and running game he wouldn't have won a game. He was a terrible QB. His best year 13-3 he had 14 TD and 11 ints.

So all the defense first and running teams are out of the playoffs

5 WIDE!!! teams will rule again, lol

Hey, but Lamar is an awesome fantasy football player! That’s what most people 25 and under care about.

Dallas is still in.

The Ravens really know how to use a mobile QB. On plays with man coverage, they send their guys deep. Jackson picks a hole and runs it. This is risking injury, and eventually, the NFL will catch up to Jackson, just like they did to Vince Young.

Because the Ravens have a good defense, Jackson can win a few games as long as he doesn't have to throw it often down on points. Don't be fooled by Jackson's passing numbers yesterday, he was below 50% as a passer, and most of his 194 yards passing came very late in the game when the Chargers seemed to ease off him.

Jackson was lucky on his fumbles this season. According to the data he had 15 total fumbles, and only lost 5 of them in his regular season games and the one playoff game. He also takes a lot of sacks per passing attempts.

Essentially he's a game manager running type of QB, who has never throw it more than 26 times and won a football game.

So, Kordell Jackson can be stopped with 3 safeties playing up to stop all that RPO stuff, would we ever do that? No, Steelers are too arrogant to make those kind of adjustments

His 1997 was arguably better with 21tds and 17ints.

I'm not trying to to talk Kordell up, but he had some decent seasons in an era when 3000yds and 15-20tds was decent passing production.

As Tom alluded to, he also had three 1000yd receivers between Ward, Burress and Thigpen. I'd be surprised if Jackson ever has one.

Kordell had stretches where he functioned well in the pocket, but he could never sustain it.
