You can tell Greeny is a Jets fan, Hey Mike, what if this is as good as Jackson ever gets?

Lamar Jackson is 21 years old. He has now started all of 8 NFL games. His ceiling is sky high. #Ravens

Coach chin was defending LJ too

I hope Nick Foles does not end up there. That would suck.

Tye media loves Lamar Jackson. Nate Burleson just declared that those late game yards vs prevent defense proves that Jackson is a good passer so shut your damn mouth

The media alway loves these running QB’s. Time and time and time again running qb’s have shown that if you force them to stay in the pocket and throw the ball, they will fail. Same ****, different year.

They loved Kordell too, long after most fans were ready to run him out of town.

Balt is going to have a QB issue next. Blueprint has been created. D has already caught up. He can't pass.

Yep and then once they get popped a couple times they become hesitant

As I said.... the running around is great for the highlights on Sportscenter but to win consistently in the NFL, especially in the playoffs, you have to have a quarterback that can... you know... pass.

The media is desperate for an African American QB to fawn over.

They'll continue to over hype the one's that have any measure of success.

SD keeping the 3 safeties in at LB was brilliant.. fast enough to run around chasing LJ but good enough in coverage he couldn't kill them over the top if they got too greedy vs the run

Even with those late game yards he had less than 200 yards passing and was 14 of 29 passing. He also had 3 fumbles (lost 1) and 7 sacks. We know all the media love him. But the stats and the film don't lie. He was horrible today until the defense went soft.

Also the idea that players always get better is ignorant. Ask Troy Edwards, Jarvis Jones ETC... if they ever get better. Especially QBs that can't throw. They won't win a SB with him and will be lucky to win many playoff games.

I, for one, hope they don't give up on Lamar!

So scheme and coaching matter in the NFL? That's hard to believe...

Mahomes almost does. Mixed race with black father and white mother. His dad Pat played MLB for the Texas Rangers.
Jackson won’t last though. It won’t be difficult to plan against him since running first is what his mindset is.

I disagree I think they let Flacco go. And Action Jackson tapers off to only ok. Running QBs stock usually lessen eventually.

San Diego’s DC did an outstanding job coming up with a plan to stop Jackson... have corners and safeties play as linebackers so you have the speed on the field to run him down. Must be nice to have coaches that understand different offenses require different game plans to stop them.

If you’re the ravens, do you double down on the read option and build the offense around it? Or do you design a more balanced attack and assume Jackson will develop as a passer?

This^^ They'll let Flacco go and have their wagon hitched to Jackson. The problem for them is that they will be good enough to win some regular season games but not good enough to win in the playoffs. They'll be a +.500 team but that's no man's land for a football team.

You tell him he has to develop as a passer or they will replace him. Doubling down on the option offense will do nothing but get him killed

Things been ugly on here for a while. Go over to Ravens 24 7 forum and enjoy the venom spewed on each other.

You will not win a championship in the NFL running the read/option as your base offense.

That sounds racist like the scout who said Jackson should play WR. I believe it was a charger scout and when Balt beat them a few weeks ago, the media basically said take that you racist scout!

Pointing out that he can’t read defenses and he’s a terrible passer is not allowed. And don’t bring up his low wonderlic score. He’s a franchis QB. It’s been decided.
