By: Jordan DeFigio, @fidgenewton SteelerNation.com   Close your eyes for a minute. Picture yourself on the gridiron. It’s snowing so hard, you can barely see one yard in front of you. The noise from the crowd is so deafening even your own thoughts become hard to hear. The home team has the momentum and the […]

Shazier is too high on that list.

I would say Farrior isn't high enough for his contributions playing the middle of the field. I'd move Potsie up two more slots at least. This is a guy who should have won DPOY.

I hope for all of us that the guy at #10 is #1 on the list when he's done.

Can't wait for Crayola to mention who's not on this list but getting paid $16M this year.

there is a fair argument by those who watched that Ham might have been better than Lambert, but Lambert got lots of press because of his spirt and grimmace - LOL. Stack 'em how you want, those are the two best and mighta just put them both at 1.

As to Lambert being the Steel Curtain - I have always given that honor to someone else.

Loved the early pecking order. Hate to see a list without Kirkland and Chad but understand the list. I loved me some Kevin Greene but I think Lloyd did more for the Steelers and for that alone should be higher on the list. I know Watt is green to the list but I would put him over Shazier I think he is a more complete LBer and could skyrocket to the top in time at worse the number 3 spot provided he stays healthy.Move Pots up too. Hard to compare a OLBer to a ILBer but when a list is provided it is there to debate.

Yeah that was Mean Joe. Perhaps the best player in NFL history.

We could debate 1-3 could be interchangeable but let me take a ray ray stab at it.

1. Jack Lambert (1974-1984)- Intensity puts him above Ham, he was full go like a locomotive.
2 James Harrison (2004-2016) Some would put Ham here but I think Deebo was a bigger force on the field.
2. Jack Ham (1971-1982)- A solid number 3
4. Joey Porter (2000-2006)- His play in the SB run jumps him to 4.
5 Greg Lloyd, Sr. (1988-1997)- Injuries slide him to 5. But what a band of the hand.
6. TJ Watt (2017-Present)- This might be projection as much as what he has shown already but he is a complete LBer and should be shooting up the list quickly anyways.
7 James Farrior (2002-2011)- Pots is one of the best free agent Steeler pick-ups of all time.
8 Ryan Shazier (2014-2018)- He was primed to shoot up the list before the devastating injury.
9. Kevin Greene (1993-1995)- A limited Steeler stent knocks him down, but loved his sack ability as well as his intensity.
10.. Lawrence Timmons (2008-2016)- Sorry Timmons, I am not sure you would even be on my top ten....

Jason Gildon isn't on the list? I mean, he's only the ALL TIME sack leader for the Steelers. And no Levon Kirkland? C'Mon man!! Ryan Shazier had great promise, but so did Kendrell Bell. Sorry, but this list is Wiggity Wiggity Wiggity WHACK!

Jason Gildon is not the all time sack leader btw.

not anymore.

love TJ but he isn't top 10 yet. hopefully he will be number 1 when he retires.

Andy Russell Levon Kirkland could be on the list

Your list, your choices. My list of the top 10 would not include Shazier at all. While Watt is going to play prominently in the list in years to come he would CURRENTLY be at 11 or 12 on mine.

1. Lambert, and it isn’t even close
2. Ham, but by just a bit
2a Harrison
4. Lloyd
5. Porter
6. Farrior
7. Green
8. Kirkland
9. Timmons
10. Gildon

In the next couple of years, I can easily see Watt leapfrogging to #6, and by the end of a healthy career to the top 2

Shazier shopuldn't be on the list because you could argue Kendrall Bell as well. KIRKLAND definately belongs on that list.

.slash has it correct for top three with !) Lambert 2) DEBO 3) Ham & in that order.

Just to set things straight, DEBO is the all time sack leader for the STEELERS.

Weather you Gildon or not, he deserves on the list before Shazier.(sorry Ryan but an injury can't help your cause) ANDY RUSSELL before Ryan as well.

Salute the nation

Yeah, like others have said, its hard to envision a list without Russel and Kirkland on it. I think I would exclude Shazier(loved the guy but we shouldn't project stats) and TJ (Same reason as Shazier but I feel he'll be top 5 before all is said and done).

Yeah I went with who he gave to respect his list but I definitely would put Russell on my top ten. And take off Timmons. Shazier and Kirkland would be a hard decide for the final spot. I think Shazier was more talented but a short career is a short career. Not that we don't love us some Shazier.

Earl Holms (sp) before Shazier as well............................

Salute the nation

Jack Lambert
Jack Ham
James Harrison
Greg Lloyd
Joey Porter
Andy Russell
James Farrior
Kevin Greene
Jason Gildon
Lawrence Timmons
Levon Kirkland
LaMarr Woodley
TJ Watt
Ryan Shazier

Watt will move up but him and Shazier have had too short of a career to make the top 10 yet.
Andy Russell went to 7 pro bowls

I know he is no top 10 but at least think he should be mentioned.
Hardy Nickerson.

DEFINATELY worth mentioning but realize his career here was very short. He went on to be a GREAT LB but not all for the STEELERS (as you know). I loved his style of play, Holmes is another to be mentioned along side Hardy.

I didn't even consider anyone not on the list, but I agree. Russell gets overshadowed by Lambert/Ham and Kirkland was just special because of how he was able to play at his size. He wasn't here long, but from a pure talent POV, Chad Brown is another good option. While on this topic, Woodley had potential to be one of the team's all-time greats and Kendrell Bell may have been the best one-hit wonder in team history.

1 lambert
