Ranking the Steelers returning players 1-30

If you look at the whole season, I'd be surprised it was only 5 counted as drops. How many of those were after the injury versus before?

I'm not sure, I can't find the game splits showing drops.

Watching his game, I'd think 5 drops is low also. It seemed closer to the 8-10 range. Perhaps the chances that he alligator armed or where the ball goes clean through his elbows on a basket catch attempt, don't count as drops since he didn't touch them?

He did have 18 targets in 6 games after the injury. He had 2 receptions for 15yds. He did slightly better in the postseason with 2 receptions for 34 yards in 3 games.

I'm hardest on receivers since I was a receiver. I know when someone is slacking on a route or has poor hand placement. Coates never had great hand placement (opening your palms toward the ball and spreading your fingers). He'd pancake catch balls (where only the sides of his hands were facing the ball), and it is very difficult to catch consistently when you do this. Body catchers are the same way. There are instances where a body catch is the best option, but it does run the highest rate of a drop if you are hit attempting to body catch. Sammie does like to body catch as well. Honestly, it's also my issues with Bryant. I hope the year off improved his hand placement, because that is the only problem I have with his game.

I just don't see any trends to him improving or returning to his earlier production.
