I think it was that or he was getting cut. Thank you for your service to the Steeler Nation!

Yeah, i agree with this. Loved the big Ragu, was always a stand up guy, great on the radio as well.

So do we save 4 mill with his retirement

What an achievement! Undrafted to 11 solid years. Solid guy.......wishing you the best in your next chapter.

Congrats Ramon ...... enjoy your retirement....... now lets land Cushenberry in the draft or bring in FA Graham Glasgow if affordable

I think this is good for the team, as he was the weak link on the line this year. With that said, Ramon has been a very good player for us for a decade, and we appreciate what he's brought to the team. This gives us cap space and allows him to go out on his terms, win-win. Enjoy your retirement big guy!

A somber moment indeed...many thanks to Mr. Foster for his solid performance as a Steeler. I don't know if the future holds HOF, but you were definitely an integral part of taking this offense to an elite level...

Always liked the big Ragu as a Steelers. Glad he played his entire career in black and gold. It was pretty clear he lost a step last year, but every player does. Best wishes Ramon.

Thank you for your service (well paid I might add) and now it's time to get on with Life's work.

NEXT man up.

Salute the nation

He'll have a gig on SNR soon. Thanks for years of service and leadership.

Definitely earned his way onto the field and deserves the high praise. Feiler to LG now?

Thank you for sacrificing for the black and gold for so many years. Even though he probably could have made more elsewhere he choose to stay.

Unexpected. figured he woudl be cut, but not retire. I guess sometiems you just know. at least he gets to do it on his terms.
I wish he and his family the best of luck.

One of my favorite Steelers, but for personal reasons. Not that he went to Tennessee, but that helps. That he's from the same sleepy little town in Tennessee that my grandmother was from (Ripley, TN). I befriended Ramon on Facebook many years ago, and had a brief chat with him. Since then, I've had a peek into his private life as he raises his two sons and juggles a life in Pittsburgh with that back in Ripley. A more stand-up, classy family man on the roster you will not find.

Enjoy retirement, Ramon!
