At the time, he was the first rookie cornerback ever to start for the winning team of the Super Bowl and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team for his play. He would win a second Super Bowl with the Steelers the following season and was credited with one tackle and three passes defensed in that win over the Los Angeles Rams.


He sort of gets lost in the shuffle of SB talk, but winning the SB in your first two years and starting was no small accomplishment.


My best wishes go out to his family and friends.
 
Sorry to hear that. One of the plays that comes to mind is the second AFC championship game with the Oilers where he was covering Mel Renfro in what appeared to be a Houston TD but was ruled incomplete.
