Hey guys,

Awfully quiet last week especially since we're in the thick of Training camp. I hope you have some questions this week.

I'm still sleeping on the ground in a tent, but damn, do I look good in my medieval duds!

Going live around 7:15 for a live Q&A Vidcast www.youtube.com/SteelerNation

Hey Stryker, I‘ll kick off the questions. It looks like the offense is settling down now in the second week of practice. The light bulb seems to have clicked with Canada’s motion and misdirection offense for Trubisky and Kenny is slowly improving. With this offense, who would you rather see at left guard, an athletic mover with Green, or the steamroller with Big Dot. I know he’s hurt again right now, but what’s your preference? Also, who is going to backup Cole?

Do you have any clue how the Steelers designate NT/DT and DE on the official roster? I often see Heyward listed as DT despite usually playing DE… and others often don’t really make sense

Also, what are the chances we keep six wrs and only three rbs? I don’t think we use a ton of Rbs in season but we field a ton of wrs… we are extremely deep at wr…not so much at Rb…. id expect a couple guys we cut at wr to make other rosters, plus if they keep heyward as a third Te…

Looking at what we have in training camp, what is more important next draft, to get some high end talent at OL, or to get more high end youth on the dline?

1: Is Bush attempting to tackle even the practice dummies this summer?

2: Can Rudy actually win this competition if it’s truly performance based?

3: How do the corners look in full speed practice scenarios?

will we sign another free agent? if so what position. my hope is Joe Haden CB

George is roasting every DB he faces...is he that good or are our DBs in trouble this season...yeah, I know it's only camp but dang.

So my personal thoughts on each position
Qb: three deep, but completely unknown what level this position will give us this season
RB: Harris is a beast, but after him its all questions.. i think i will like that Warren kid…
WR: going to say this is the deepest position on the squad hands down… i can see seven or eight that may well be on rosters across the league between receiver and special teams play…
TE: totally solid. Id put our top three against any other set. Rader would be a good blocking backup on most squads.. he won’t make this roster…
OL: a lot of pieces moved around but unknown how they will gel.. a very big question mark.. I feel like the backups are going to be all journeymen rather than rising young talents…

DL: top heavy for now until the young guys prove themselves.. leal, adams and loudermilk are all potential heirs to the veteran starters, but each has to prove they can handle it going forward

Ilb: so many question marks here, one absolutely solid starter, one highly questionable one, a solid backup who may start in spillane, Gilbert isxat least temporarily gone, he looks good but can’t stay healthy, Allen, who is already banged up, Buddy, the althletic freak with no on field carryover yet, or Robinson, the lower round draft pick looking good in camp… this could go a lot of ways

Olb… top two are great… after that there is a vet who isn’t really a pass rusher, a special teams ace, and a young guy with potential, but who fits the bill of a guy who won’t make the team

Safety is solid at worse. It isn’t loaded with playmakers, but looking at it someone getting cut will be nfl roster quality..

CB: for many this is a question mark but i think it is deep and has the potential to be as good as a few years ago… I think Witherspoon is a playmaker and Wallace is a great get as a starter.. Sutton is solid and versatile, and Pierre is a good backup.

How do you see the roster as we start the preseason games?

How about this, which draft pick this year will eventually have the greatest legacy for the Steelers

Pickett might be the qb for an era
Pickens looks like an absolute beast
Leal is dominating and might be the future at DE
CA3 might be the returner and shifty slot guy we have been chasing forever
Even Heyward and Robinson look like keepers…

Another one… how do you feel about potentially trying to trade Gunner O if CA3 looks like a decent returner? Actually any of the non top four could be candidates for a trade…

look the way i see it is DJ, Claypool, Pickens and CA3 are stone cold locks, but after that Boykin, Miller, And Sims are all nfl caliber wrs, and it really looks like Cody White and Tyler Vaughn both are at least practice squad material… Gunner is at a minimum a good returner..

As it is there are 4 nfl caliber wrs looking for probably one spot, it makes sense to potentially deal one…

There may be some competition.. NE is rumored to be thinking about shopping the high priced Agholor, but at his cost few would probably be interested

the giants may be dailing Darius Slayton, and Miami may be dealing Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr… but it sounds like the Bears are in desperate need of a wr, and the panthers, Titans, Ravens and Cowboys are all looking for wrs at this point.

This could be a prime opportunity to recoup some picks. Especially since most of our guys have ok stats at a lower cap hit…
