Question: Are we SURE LeVeon is better than Conner?

Last time I checked, Conner was leading all backs in broken tackles after contact.

Where did I suggest Conner was anything other than superb? I was just pointing out that suggesting Bell is soft or does not finish runs is simply not true.

And provided a nice gif to back up my point!!

Look, I understand the anger at Bell, but he is as tough as a $2 steak. Remember Bell's crushing run on the JuJu demolition of Burfdefect? Here is a reminder:

Dre Kirkpatrick ... roadkill.

I just love watching Juju absolutely blast Burfdefect!

Still don't get why that block would be considered anything other than good football.

It was not "blindside." Burfdefect was looking right at JuJu when he was crushed. He did not use his helmet, or go for Burdefect's head, like Defect does on every tackle.

Good, clean, awesome hit.

That Bell video is not the norm. He normally avoids contact as much as possible and has admitted so multiple times..

I didn't say Bell was soft or didn't finish runs. I did say that I believe Conner is a tougher runner, and I totally believe that. Tougher, faster and stronger.
Also, when/if Bell comes back, I hope the brain trust is smart enough to realize that you don't **** with what's working. The job belongs to James because he was here to earn it.

If JuJu doesn't stand over him like that, totally clean play, no penalty required.

Look, we can discuss the merits of Bell vs Conner all day. But ultimately HOW many 25+ yard runs has Bell had in the last few years? HOW often did he find the EZ?

Bell is a fine back between the 20 for a conservative, ball control offense. But ultimately he's just NOT a home run threat. He never really has been. I like the guy from a player perspective. You can generally count on him to get you around 4 yards. But you better not be betting the bank on him getting 20 yards. He can't beat the 2nd level.

Conner is the first RB in Steelers history to rush for 2 TDs in 3 consecutive games.

Conner + 15 mil to spend on others players > Bell and his 15 mil cap hit

Almost as tough as the tackling is ******.

You weren't. I just remembered it and thought I would point it out in comparison.

Lev has his strengths, but IMO Conner has earned the start for the remainder of the year.

Nope.

The networks used to show how if you took away all of Sanders negative yardage carries, he would average like 8 yards/carry or something ridiculous as if it was a testament to his greatness. It was actually a testament to his ineffectiveness.

Emit Smith and Jerome Bettie were more effective RBs just to name two.

The majority of those negative runs were where he would get hit in the backfield. Sometimes as soon as he got the ball in his gut. Yet at times even then he would turn a negative run into a positive. He was simply one of the best RB's ever.

judges award a 6.5 on technical merit and a stunning 9.75 for artistic impression to the counselor from the left coast

on pace for 1370 yards rushing, 738 yards receiving, and 21 TD's.

Those numbers are extremely similar to Bells 2 best years (2014 & 2016) except Conner has a much higher TD frequency

Let's remember that opposing D's have been game planning for Bell for quite a while. Still, I repeat that I rather Conner because I'm tired of the drama

No way Meveon shows up and can be as productive as James was today.

At this point it would be a slap in the face to James for what he has done for the team so far.

Especially our OL is now blocking for Conner. When Bell enters the game how effective will they be run blocking for Bell with the way he hesitates during his runs?

Um Bell isn't playing now and perhaps at all this season. How can you make any comparison?

Agreed. I expect DC's to dedicate more resources to stopping Conner - and then watch Brown, JJSS and McDonald tear them a new *******.

I hated using the 3rd round pick on Conner as they had defensive needs to address, and he seemed like a reach, but he's looking like a steal now.

Tomlin and Colbert saw something in him that most people did not. The kid is a special talent

He's definitely faster and maybe stronger than Bell, though Bell is more athletic and can do more things in the passing game in terms of the routes he can run, though Conner's hands are just as good, IMO.

Relative to cost, Conner is without a doubt the better option.

Tombert looks like a genius getting him in the 3rd. I felt bad about the pick then, but they definitely foresaw the Bell not tolling in Pittsburgh anymore.

It was pretty easy to see that coming when Bell started rapping about "breaking the bank" and "needing $15M per". I'm just glad they actually caught on to the fact that he was serious.

Not even close. Sanders played with some awful Lions teams and behind some terrible OLines. Some of his greatest runs were just avoiding defenders in the backfield to just get back to the line of scrimmage. Emmitt used to run behind huge holes and Bus played with great Steeler OLines. Put Barry on the Cowboys or the Steelers and he destroys the numbers both Bus and Emmitt put up. Barry was the focus og=f every defense he ever played against, Bus and Emmitt had HOF QBs and HOF Wrs to play with, Barry, not so much.
