Quarterback in round three?

I'm saying we did very well last year with our first 3 picks. We need to do the same this year and hope those 3 (+1) picks are players that we can play immediately. I believe we have another year before we need to worry about drafting a QB. Ben used the word retirement, its gonna raise some eyebrows. It also came after a demoralizing end to the season where his practice squad WRs **** the bed (minus AB). He was frustrated. I think Ben can play 3 more seasons at an elite level and I wouldn't expect much more than that. For me, I focus on fixing the holes that are on the roster right now and then work on a replacement for Ben next offseason.

You can still get three guys in the first 3 rounds that can help immediately, because we have an extra 3rd pick this year which I feel gives us the flexibility to also take a QB with the potential to grow into a starter when Ben does hang them up. Three years is probably hopeful, and I wouldn't be shocked if we won the Super Bowl and Ben were to retire.

Which QB do you think is there and you would want to take?

Also want to point out some of what Del and I posted in this thread about QB's drafted outside the first two rounds. Looks like we looked at 4th round and later. If I throw in 3rd round in Del's search, I get Russell Wilson and Matt Schaub added. both gone before comp picks.

It's like we've circled around to the beginning again. Did you come to this opinion based on your own personal evaluation of the class, or is it based on what others have said about the class?

You are the one that circled around. I've said all along it was my opinion. You know, you are a real pain in the ***. Go bug someone else. Last thing I need is to be harassed by some newbie the few times a week I post here.

Wasn't harassing just asking for your foundation, but sure we can move on

Btw I may be a newbie in name, and post randomly, but I've been on this site since 2010. I had to change screen names several times after forgetting passwords and after they had to redo the site.

We are drafting Josh Dobbs in round 5. There is just too many similarities to Dobbs and some of the mid-round QB's this team likes to draft every three years.

That's a strong possibility, hopefully he wouldn't be Omar Jacobs all over again.

Without knowing anything about either, NFL.com tracker has Dobbs barely below Webb, who they compare to Osweiller.....

I'd rather Dobbs in the 5th than an Osweiller in the 3rd, I think.

The Steelers gave Landry Jones a new deal. So in their mind, he's the backup, but he's not good enough as a starter.

Dobbs is athletic, but not Kordell-like.
he's also not Kordell-like in intelligence. He studied aerospace engineering.

looking at Haley's playbook would likely piss him off.

his linkedin page has him as an intern at Pratt & Whitney
