More to come but just finished up with my QB and RB spots. My board will look nothing like anyone else’s. Just a heads up as every year I hear the same thing that my board sucks because it doesn’t look like Mel Kiper. No, it doesn’t and I’m proud of it.

Am I reading that right that you rank Dart as the #1 QB option this year?

Dart will be picked higher then he deserves to be because the QB draft is so weak, my opinion is he is a low first round pick. Sanders should be in the 3rd round at earliest and I would have Hampton up there with a late 1st tag on him. I'm thinking Ewers will be the second QB off the board.

Shedeur Sanders = Malik Willis with a known personna daddy
Cam Ward = never trust a QB named Cam to not go full on bonkers

And elite. I have watched tons of film on him and the more I watch the more I like. The only thing I don’t like is he sometimes tries to make plays where there’s no play at all. But then sometimes he makes a play that’s impossible. I rather have a guy who has confidence and takes a risk than a guy who’s gun shy.
Sanders sounds like drama. And sucked vs any real competition.

Ward literally had all day to throw.

Why do you have Dart as the top QB this year? People seem to love him as potentially the best QB or think he plays in a gimmick offense and will stink in the NFL.

Also, it's a year away, but do you have any early thoughts on next year's QB class? My initial impression is it feels a bit overrated.

Dart was the best guy at the combine.

Shough was second best, and way more athletic than expected, but he is gonna be 26 this season so he wont climb past the 4th or fifth round if he gets tgere... before he lit up the combine, I was hoping we could get him as a seventh rounder...

He and Dart were both post combine visits for the Steelers...

I just think Dart is going to go much higher than people think...

As for RBs... i can live with a third or fourth rounder, but taking a late flyer on Rashiem sanders wouldnt be a bad move. A bit injury prone, but a solid back nonetheless... he was expected to be a first round talent before the injuries hit, and if he finds that speed he lost when he got hurt he would be an absolute steal

I've seen as high as No. 3 overall and there seems to be a lot of momentum to him at Seattle at 18--I wouldn't expect Darnold to prevent them from drafting Dart if they believe in him.

I think that Ward and Sanders are going to be the first two off the board, because the talking heads say so.

My thoughts would to be to see if you can move up in round 3 and hope to get McCord or Shough. Wait and look for Smith in the 4th. Wouldn't even be against taking a QB with both the 3rd and 4th rounder.

I would also look to sign at least 1 UDFA QB. They can't have too many QB's going into the summer.

I admire your passion for this stuff

I really like D.J. Giddens from K State. He has decent size and speed but his cutting ability is insane. He has left a lot of people looking stupid.

I'd love to hear why you have Kaleb Johnson as 6/7th, and Cam Skattebo as a 3rd.

Cam Ward is the only 1st round guy. Without a rd 2 pick, I don't think the steelers should go QB until at least rd 4. Round 1 has to be a starter. You better not pass up your next Cam Heyward for the next Kenny Pickett. Then in rd 3 you still need a DB or WR or Edge or OT.

I'd rather just wait until next year's QB draft where there will be better prospects and the steelers should have comp picks for the guys they lost this year.

It's hard to judge college QBs because so many of them that have good stats play in an offense that's very easy. That's the worry with Dart. I remember Matt Corral being talked about as a 1st rounder a few years ago. I think he's in the XFL. Dart is like a robot. How will he do when that first read isn't wide open?

Shedeur. I don't see it at all. The thing thart pops most is he plays against some horrible defenses. I don't think he's a great athlete. He buys time in the pocket because he's mostly going against future accountants. He reminds me of Johnny Manziel.

Cam Ward. He's the only guy i'd take in rd 1. Being calm in the pocket is one thing, but at times he plays like he's bored, like he doesn't give a ****. There were a few times where i thought the ref blew the play dead because Cam was standing there flat footed.

Will Howard. He's throwing to a pair of 1st round WRs.

Kyle McCord. He couldn't take the pressure at Ohio State so he transferred to Syracuse.

Riley Leonard. Are we gonna run QB power 20 times per game?

Dillon Gabriel. Too small

Tyler Shough. Decent prospect but it took him like 7 years to do something.

I think you use this draft to build up the DL and secondary and try to add more OL.

Accuracy and arm strength is elite.

The offense at Ole Miss isn’t that gimmicky. It’s a pro style RPO. He typically only has to make one read and either throw, handoff or run. But Lamar still can only do that and he wins MVP trophies. I would love to sit down with him and breakdown film but my guess is you can’t be stupid to run Charlie Weis Jr’s offense.

2026 has a lot of potential. Arch Manning is the name we’re all going to hear early but imo he won’t and shouldn’t come out until 2027. At least the limited play I have seen he’s far from a polished player.

Drew Allar has all the tools but imo is a system quarterback. The Nittany Lions haven’t developed him much beyond that. It’s sad because he has Roethlisberger type talent.

Garrett Nussmeier is the guy I personally think has the best ceiling as a quarterback. Live arm and can make all the throws. But he trust his arm a little bit too much as he throws into coverage more than I like. But he’s a guy to watch in 2025.

Deep RB class. He could be a Le’Veon Bell type back. He ran well at the combine I just didn’t see that speed on tape. He has great vision and will be a chain mover though.

I'd love to hear why you have Kaleb Johnson as 6/7th, and Cam Skattebo as a 3rd.
Skatteboo carried his team. I think Skatteboo will be an offensive threat in pass catching, pass protection, and a power back. He might not be a thousand yards rusher but he’ll have a thousand all purpose yards and be an offensive chess piece.
Kaleb Johnson ran through holes I could get 5 yards through. Johnson is a downhill runner and probably finds a home as a power guy but this imo is a deep rb draft and his ceiling is Brian Robinson jr. If someone takes him early I think he ends up being William Green. Under 4 ypc and never hits a thousand yards.

Am I reading that right that you rank Dart as the #1 QB option this year?

Right? Elite? Guy was a universal day 2 pick until he threw on air at the Combine. He’s going to get a coach and GM fired.

I think I just convinced myself — trade up for Dart.

Cam ward needs a great offensive line or he will need to speed up his throws tremendously in the NFL. Not saying he can’t just saying that’s going to be a huge adjustment.
I'd rather just wait until next year's QB draft where there will be better prospects and the steelers should have comp picks for the guys they lost this year.
Besides Arch manning and his 900 yards passing hype I don’t think next year will be much different than this year. 2-3 first round picks and then a few day two guys. Anything can happen I suppose in a year but I don’t think 2026 is going to be a 2004 QB draft.

I had Matt Corral as a day 3 pick. Dart has a rocket arm and great accuracy. In 2017 I had Pat Mahomes as an elite level QB. I heard the same stuff about him. System QB, one read, won’t translate to the NFL. You never know how someone will develop in the NFL. I was high on Jameis Winston for the same reasons I was on Mahomes and am on Dart. Obviously, that didn’t work out so great because he never developed the ability to read a defense. But when you look at the talent and see him drop a 55+ dime right in the breadbasket of a receiver running full speed you know he has the ability. And with GP and DK I feel he would instantly be our best option at quarterback.
Shedeur. I don't see it at all. The thing thart pops most is he plays against some horrible defenses. I don't think he's a great athlete. He buys time in the pocket because he's mostly going against future accountants. He reminds me of Johnny Manziel.
Agreed.

Yep agreed. He has all day back there and he won’t get that in the NFL. He will struggle if he’s put out there too soon.
Will Howard. He's throwing to a pair of 1st round WRs.
But he’s a day two pick so I’d be fine with him.
Kyle McCord. He couldn't take the pressure at Ohio State so he transferred to Syracuse.
He looked good at Syracuse though. Again a day two pick so there’s gonna be read flags.
Riley Leonard. Are we gonna run QB power 20 times per game?
Tomlin would love that.
Dillon Gabriel. Too small
Too old too. Big arm though and good accuracy.
Tyler Shough. Decent prospect but it took him like 7 years to do something.

I think you use this draft to build up the DL and secondary and try to add more OL.
Shough probably out of the NFL in 3 years.

I draft BPA and don’t look back. It never hurts to draft the best player on your board. The only time I draft for position is for tiebreaker for two players graded the same.

Right? Elite? Guy was a universal day 2 pick until he threw on air at the Combine. He’s going to get a coach and GM fired.

He’s been the top QB on my board all offseason.
