QB in round one?! Colbert likes someone.

Tomlin responded, "I think we've been in that mindset for the last several years, that's what this business tells us to be in. We better start sharpening our sword in terms of evaluation of quarterbacks and what's available to us or potentially available to us, that's just due diligence. So yes, we have."
I hope they sharpen their sword. Here is our list of other QBs since 2013 - Landry Jones, Brendon Kay, Taj Boyd, Mike Vick, Bruce Gradkowski.

I'm sure your clinging to that with every fiber of your being lol

And youre wrong. I could give two ***** about Tomlin. I want the team to succeed with him and without him.

I just think Ben is carrying this team on his back for years. No bens not without his flaws. But you and I both know the answer as far as how well this team would do without him.

So suck it.

Alot of anger for someone who don't care lol. No need to make that post if you want the team to succeed with him. Lol at people still waiting for this guy to fail 10 years later.

anger no. Just don't appreciate being type cast by the board apologist. (hows that for type casting?)

Why do i have to be a fan of Tomlin to want the team to succeed? That's my opinion, that Ben carry's the team in spite of the HC and maybe the OC as well.

I agree with you B&G Bleeder. I too couldn't care less if Tomlin coaches this team or not. Never been a fan of his but be it as it may. I think Ben not being the QB of this football team will send it spiraling downward until we can get another franchise QB. That scares the hell out of me not having confidence Colbert and Tomlin can recognize that type of talent. We got damn lucky with Ben and Cowher almost blew that one if it hadn't been for Mr. Rooney.

So if Tomlin's success is about Ben then so is Cowhers and belicheks about Brady the list goes on and on. The issue most fail to see is that a truly bad coach ruins QBs. They don't get better they regress. So while Tomlin isn't the greatest coach to ever live he is good. And has given Ben a platform to get better. Given him an offense to carry the team. But of course since some thinks he sucks it's easy to overlook and just credit Ben. The Steelers under Colbert and Tomlin haven't been tasked to find Ben's replacement.. They've been looking for his backup. Spending a quality pick when now or next year or when Ben is retired is quite different then looking at middle of the pack and low round guys.

Landry Jones, Oklahoma 53 MPH. On the weak side, but we know that already.

I'm okay with drafting Webb Davis in round two. I think Ben has one foot out the door already. Once he goes, this team is going to suffer. Even a star like Brown is taken down 2 pegs without Ben.

Kizer has 52. only 5 of those listed for 2016 are higher.

no data on how hard Drew ******* Henson threw a ball.

I could argue that Tomlin was ruining Ben. He was clearly regressing, holding the ball, and taking a beating under Arians. The rooneys stepped in and forced Arians out. Tomlin fought to keep Arians. It was Haley who got Ben going in the right direction again by havung Ben get rid of the ball quicker. Ben has taken less of a beating the last few years. Tomlin was content to watch Ben get crushed each week.

And I could argue that he let him be who he is. I could argue he went to three super bowls two under Tomlin playing that way. We could do this nonsense all day. Bottom line is Ben didn't turn into a Jay Cutler under Tomlin. Because it can be said bad coaches ruin young QB.

Seems like Ben could have learned some of that on his own too, especially, regarding to holding onto the ball too long.

Saying Mahomes has the best "arm" is like saying Kapernick and Cutler have good "arms". It's not all about strength.

SOURCES TELL US "He's got a great arm, big balls and he's mobile. He is going to drive his head coach crazy for the first couple of years and there is no getting around that. If it clicks for him and he's coachable, I think he could become a special quarterback." - NFC executive

NFL COMPARISON Jay Cutler

BOTTOM LINE Mahomes is a big, confident quarterback who brings a variety of physical tools to the party, but he's developed some bad habits and doesn't have a very repeatable process as a passer. Mahomes' ability to improvise and extend plays can lead to big plays for his offense, but he will have to prove he can operate with better anticipation and be willing to take what the defense gives him in order to win from the pocket. Mahomes will be a work in progress, but he's a high ceiling, low floor prospect.

^^ It sounds like Mahomes has too much Cojones! Brett Farve, but without the talent. IMO, too risky for rounds 1 and 2.

Cower won playoff games with Tommy Maddox, Mike Tomzack, and Kordell Stewart. He also beat Belichek in the playoffs.

Please, without Ben, Tomlin does not last five year here.

Him beating belicheat in the playoffs while he was with the browns isn't the notch on the belt you're making it out to be.

Lol, I guess I should have checked up on that, I assumed (even realizing it was Coach) that he meant while at the *'s.

Cowher with Ben is 5-1 in the playoffs. And he never saw Ben's best years. Tomlin is close to .500 with Ben.

I also feel that losing O'Donnell thanks to Rooney being cheap cost the Steelers another super bowl appearance. As it was, the team had the Cowboys dynasty team at their peak on the ropes until late in the 4th quarter.

oh yeah - just what we need, another ******* Cowher vs Tomlin thread

G-Men open to drafting Eli Manning successor

The Giants are open to drafting Eli Manning's successor this year.

"I think we have to start thinking about it," co-owner John Mara said. "I think you always have to look at drafting a quarterback where you can." GM Jerry Reese attended UNC QB Mitch Trubisky's Pro Day, while coach Ben McAdoo has blamed the Giants' 2016 offensive woes on Manning. Quarterback won't be the most likely selection when the Giants are on the clock at No. 23, but they clearly aren't ruling it out.

2017 will be Manning's age-36 season.
