QB draft class, 2019

Usually, the media hypes a quarterback or two. So far this year it has been quiet. I lean toward Drew Lock being the best long-term prospect of the bunch, but will he go in the top 10? I think so. We should root for as many QB's to go off the board before we pick, as it increases our chances to land a top ILB, S, or CB.


Below are the teams in need.


Jacksonville. Pick #6 Its pretty much a " lock " they will be picking a QB.


New York Giants. Pick #9. I think they want to move on from Eli. Check that they have to soon, he's older. Will Greir, if he works out well, has been very impressive at West Virginia for 2 years. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/will-grier-1.html


Cincinnati Bengals. Pick #10. They can cut Dalton and save 16.2 million in cap space. Given how cheap the owner is, and how mediocre Dalton is, this move makes all the financial sense in the world. Dalton's cap number is 16.2 million in 2019. If he's on the board, Dwayne Haskins makes all the sense in the world for them. An Ohio State boy staying in the state.


Will 3 QB's go in the top ten? Probably not, but two might.
 
A couple thoughts. If Foles wins out regardless of whether the Eagles are in the playoffs he becomes a very interesting FA prospect. Also the Steelers are not I the market until they find out what they have. Dobbs doesn't look particularly like a starter but I have hope for Rudolph.
 
I'm leaning toward Fromm in 2020 draft after the wheels come off next year: Tomlin has his first under .500 season, Ben's age catches up with him, the Tomlin/Butler D continues to get shredded and we go 3-3 in the division getting ***** slapped by the Stains twice.


Who the 2020 class is intrigues me more.
 
ARE we in the market and if so, why would we of picked RUDOLF in the 3rd???? 3rd is to high of a pick to replace Landry Jone's so there is that. 2020 will probably be Ben ROETHLESBERGER's last year and possibly Coach TOMLIN will not be extended unless they hoist the L. Before then.

I look to Cody Ford, Oklahoma, 350 lb OT, for the future, we need to have the best line possible to run the ball with Ben gone, and they still have a clue how to draft offense.....and maybe that Notre Dame RB
 
as for usw we need a replacement for burns and a long term replacement at ILB devin bush would be perfect to plat the shazier type role.

Screw that. How bout we go back to playing a base 34 with a space eater nose like Raekwon Davis? Hire a DC, tackling coach, a clock coach, and challenge coach? I mean, with Ben and Bell gone the 5 wide ship has sailed no? If only we coulda scored 30+ per game.

Nope

Still have to score 30 pts a game somehow, might as well build up the O line for the next 6 years and make it easier for the new QB to survive

Steelers will NEVER improve the defense through the draft, get some quality free agents with proven game skills, leave the D drafting to other teams with a clue and steal them

We sure can't draft D, you're dead on.
How do you help a young QB? 1) protect him with good OL 2) good OL to support solid run game-having solid RBs 3) a solid TE to keep the chains moving.


Crazy but drafting OL/offensive weapons could help keep Ben around for another year or two.
