PSU vs OSU

Morning, everyone! Must say, it's a beautiful Sunday morning that the good Lord has blessed us with, no??

Helluva game last night! Ol' PSU had the Buckeyes dead to rights, but the good guys came through again. Quality entertainment, ya can't beat it.

Good luck to the Nittany Lions the rest of the way!

GOOOOO BUCKEYES!!! :chug::whoo::clap2::towel2:

i was not crazy about the long bomb on 2nd down either. they already had good field position and 3 TOs. Even if they got 5 yards there, PSU would have had the first down on the third down play. The run up the middle was terrible. The RB had been stuffed all game. Let Trace win or lose the game.

I honestly expected PSU to lose this game and went into it fully prepared. When they squandered all those chances in the first half and gave OSU 7 points to end the half I knew what the outcome would be. Some serious play calling and game management issues on both sides of the ball with PSU that IMO will keep them from ever being a playoff team untill it gets fixed.

And from what we seen last night OSU has absolutely NO chance of beating the Sabans semi pro team from Tuscaloosa. Amazing how he does it every year and stays under the boosters salary cap.

I still think if they can win out. they can have a shot at the playoffs.

Absolutely you can’t give up.
As a Michigan fan I’m in the same boat,
If our only loss is to a top 10 ND team on the road in game one, pretty good resume

So, you're saying that PSU has less than NO chance of beating 'Bama considering the outcome of last night's game? Or that they have equally as little chance as tOSU since they only lost by one point? All assuming of course that PSU is able to sneak into the playoffs. The thing about sour grapes is that .... they're sour.

Hey bro, "That's why they play the game." Clemson and OSU beat them for the championship. But Tide is strong.

OSU never beat Bama in a championship game. They beat them in the first round a few years ago. The only time OSU has faced an SEC team in the championship game they got blasted by Florida and LSU. Bama and OSU have never met in a championship game.

As much as a PSU fan as I am I don't think they are going to win out. Sorry just being realistic here....

Sour grapes from a guy that fully expected PSU to loose? If that makes your feel better yuk it up.....

And since I fully expect PSU to lose more than one game this years YEA....

I dont think PSU has a chance to beat Bama because I don't think PSU will sniff the playoffs....

Hows that for a realistic PSU fan?

OSU fans should be worried, They got dominated for most of the game by a team with less talent. Before this game, i thought OSU had a shot at a championship but after this game, i think they'd get their heads kicked in by Bama, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma. I also think they will lose to Michigan.

Their QB is nowhere near as good as i thought and neither is the OL. Penn State's DL is good but they have some young player so they are not elite and they owned the LOS.

OSU's only offense was plays where PSU somehow missed multiple tackles. There was nothing sustained and PSU's defense is not elite yet.

I actually do think PSU has a better chance of winning in the playoffs because of McSorley. He gives them a chance in any game like Mayfield did with Oklahoma. He just makes plays and seems to never get rattled.

Hey, does this mean that if PSU goes unbeaten the rest of the way and does not play in the Big 10 championship that they get a playoff bid?

As for that last 4th down call. I've given this some thought over they last day and that may be the worst single play call i have ever seen.

I thought that yesterday and i figured that after a day, i'd think differently as the loss fades, but I don't. I honestly believe that.

People talk about the Seahawks passing instead of giving it to Lynch but that pass was a play that had a high possibility of success with a SB winner pulling the trigger. And it wasn't 4th down.

That run PSU called had ZERO chance for success. Anybody who saw that game knew that Ohio State completely shut down the PSU run game aside from the QB runs. And to think you could run it outside makes it doubly insane.

Losing the game didn't bother me. They played great most of the way and sometimes you lose when playing another top team. But to lose like that? It was a kick to the gut.

That last play had to be a pass. Any pass play allowed for a McSorley scramble which was their best play all night. I'd bet in that situation, OSU would have overplayed a McSorley run and a WR or TE should have been able to get open behind the LBs for the short gain.

I literally sat there stunned. Almost waiting for them to come back out and run another play because that could not have just happened. Could it?

I imagine OSU fans felt the same way, just couldn't believe that was the final play. Fowler and Herbstreit couldn't believe it either.

Nope, doesn't make me feel better at all. As a tOSU fan, I'll focus on what's next on the schedule and seeing if the Buckeyes manage to improve after this game. They'll need to. What I find amusing though is that PSU fans (at least some) won't do the same. Instead, some of y'all will spend a good portion of your time trying to discredit the team that beat you and crying about how you should be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Well as an unbiased hater of both teams the better team on the field was PSU and should have won, but that doesn’t always happen

I said earlier that tOSU deserved to lose. Sooooo ....
However, I will say this, you have to be the better team for the whole game if you're PSU. The last two years have shown that's not necessarily the case with tOSU. I'll take it.

I was watching in disbelief as well.

To me, there were four glaring mistakes made by Franklin in the last 16 minutes of this game:

1) The decision to go for it on 4th-and-1 from the OSU 24 with under a minute to go in the third quarter. Down 14-13, you've got to try a 41-yard field goal to take the lead.
2) Kicking the extra point to make it 20-14 instead of going for 2. Why? Are you worried Ohio State is going to kick 2 field goals in the last 12 minutes of the game? Just foolish.
3) The choice to punt on 4th-and-5 from the OSU 37 with under 5 minutes left. Up 26-21, you have the opportunity to allow McSorley to get a crucial first down deep in Buckeye territory, and set up Penn State for the win. Yes, the punt was a good one to the 4, but OSU had just gone 75 yards in only 4 plays on the prior drive. They had all their timeouts and plenty of time, no matter where the drive started.
4) Of course the play call at the end. Roll McSorley out, for God's sake let the kid make a play with his arm or his legs.

A sad loss indeed. Maybe another one-point defeat to Ohio State is karma for what a dick Franklin has been at the ends of all those blowout wins against inferior opposition.

That's all I was saying too. PSU and OSU don't deserve to be on the same field as Bama right now.

Just like the prediction I made after the OSU game that PSU would lose again......And right on cue the next game, today, they lose.
