Indeed.

Beat writers, draft publications, player rankings, pundits, talking heads, fans on message boards... yes it's a long list of those had no clue how the Steelers stacked their board or who they were looking at.

It's the same every year, but we always seem shocked when the picks roll in.

As others have pointed out, the Steelers had their pick of the crop of safeties at #28 including Reid, Harrison and Bates. They had Edmunds rated higher than all of them. It really cracks me up none of us saw this coming.

I actually like Jim Wexell. Dale is OK.

But... that is going to be a hearty helping of crap-burger that they have to look forward to! LOL.

That's why I stopped doing draft predictions. I'm just some jabroni who was never close to being right but then neither are the so-called experts.

To be fair the Steelers reached last night pretty far but not neccasarily in a bad way. They took a guy to play the middle rover on third down who will hopefully have upside to start down the road. LVE gone. Evans gone. They wanted a guy for now and Edmunds can play that role. Big, fast and strong. Clearly they didnt want a rb or qb for the future. They wanted a guy for now.

Like every other draft, we'll all know in a few years. Have to admit this years draft overall doesn't excite me much.

Don't feel bad Ron, YOU were never used right, you'd look good in Black and Gold, I'd sign yaz for vet minimum...........Oh and you'd bring vet leadership to the ranks.................

I don't think anybody really knows what teams really want. Obviously they aren't going to divulge their selections.
