For a mid-season firing(2019), they would have to be a walking disaster. History doesn't dictate they would let him go mid-season. People like Stephen A. Smith says that he deserves more than 2 or 3 bad seasons before let go. His winning percentage doesn't warrant a release after one bad season/missed PO.
Switzer's winning percentage didn't either. Has nothing to do with anything. Smith is a Tomlin loyalist. Plus he has had more than one bad season. He hasn't won a SB in 10 seasons and has a terrible playoff record recently. I don't care what he did 10 years ago. Losing at home to Jax last year should have been his wake up call. Now this season has been a disaster after a promising start.
For Tomlin apologists there is never a reason to fire him. Next year it will be either he's never had a losing season or he's only had 1 losing season. In 2 years it will be Ben is too old. Or the following year will be the team is too young. There is always an excuse.
