Press questions for Tomlin

How about asking why Ben doesn’t practice. Read that he allows Landry to take first team snaps while he does physical therapy and helps with game plans. Is there any truth to that?

Those picks weren’t all on Ben. I’d say 2 of the 5 were his fault. And again, why are they throwing so much on one of the best pass defenses in the league instead of running on the worst run defense? It was sabotage from within by horrible coaching. And those were just flat out awesome challenge flags, Tomlin. Real peaches. Dumbass.

I can't help but wonder why the Steelers insist on a mostly vertical passing game plan. I mean...they send their receivers straight downfield which leaves a very little window to drop the ball into. I realize that's always been Ben's "style" but maybe they need to adjust a little. Tom Brady has built his entire career out of timing the slot receiver running horizontally. Whether it's Wes Welker, Amendola or Edlemann, it seems it's just so much easier to get separation and YAC on the crossing routes. Ben's never been a timing QB, but Ben also hasn't been CONSISTENTLY great for several years. Maybe time to make a few adjustments.

Go die in a fire and make sure your whole family is with you

Don't let people who insult you on here get to you. Who the **** are they anyway? At the end of the day this game means jack **** for us and most players could give a flying **** about you. They're counting their millions. These guys are far from being a unit.

LMFAO, 3 SB, 2 SB wins, stats that place him in the elite ranks ahead of HOF qb's, and you compare him to Tyrod Taylor...any validity in your bullshit just flew right back up your ***.

He didn't do much to get to or win that first SB and "he" scored what 17 points against a pathetic 9-7 Cardinals team in the second.

Those were defensive teams that won those, including the James Harrison 100 yard return. If not for that Ben is 0-3 if he even gets to a SB.

Sure the stats say 2 time SB champ, but the stats don't tell the whole story.

So true, ben has always been bad to mediocre in the Super Bowl. Bradshaw was great in every Super Bowl finishing with at least a 100 QB rating in all of them and throwing at least 1 TD pass in every 4th quarter of them including game winners. Bradshaw > Ben by a long shot.

Ben's stats say he's a hall of fame player. Probably our most important player in the last 20 years.

I guess you missed Ben's come back to win the game when the ol had issues blocking people and our db's were getting burned?

Wow, you guys have selective memories, we don't even sniff the first super bowl without Ben playing the way he did in those playoffs, his passing stats were bad in that super bowl but he made big plays, 3rd and 28, gets away from pressure hits Ward at the 1 to set up the 1st TD that he scored, picked off the safety on the EL pass.

The second one, who gives a ****, that last drive was legendary, under pressure every play, threw two game winning TDs there, Holmes dropped the first one.

Maybe when the leader cares, or has a clue, we will win. But, yea Ben sucked. He has in the past, and will in the future. Need Bettis, Ward, and others around him. It's a team. or should be.

I think you said a lot right here. We don’t have the Bettis or Ward types any longer. They’ve been replaced by the me first guys.

You help make my point. He scores when he scrambles around and Santonio Holmes comes open. That speaks more to Holmes ability and the stupidity of thr Cards in not taking Holmes away.

The other part of his game that would have allowed him to read D's and find the right man never developed enough, never scored enough points. That's with great defenses, great rb's and pretty damn good WR's. He racked up a lot of yards off broken plays and yeah he made some from the pocket.

Ben benefited greatly from being the QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Put him on almost any other team and he's Fran Tarkenton 2.0

That's all.

You mean the passes that surprised the Colts to Heath Miller that any JV high school QB could have made in 05?

That was a function of the Colts expecting Cowher to come out run heavy......Again the stats don't tell everything.

Yeah you're right any JV Highschool QBs make those passes, ok. What about the 100+ rating at Cincy and Denver? Let me guess Jr high QBs make those throws

Youre right. I am apart of the 'Anti-Ben' crowd because I am holding him accountable. Because I would rather my QB NOT throw 5 INTs.

Do you honestly think Ben is, or is playing like an elite QB this season? Because I can think of 10 teams who would rather keep their current QB than swap for ours.

Maybe you should research how many HOF quarterbacks have thrown multiple 5 int games or 6,7,8 int games. yes Ben had a bad day but again go look and see the other QB's that have had worse days and are in the HOF.

I'll look at it as the glass is half full, but needs more vodka. 5 games. 2-0 in division on the road, and they're still a leading. Defense while having issues w/the run, has done their job. Points allowed 18, 9, 9, 23, 16 (taking out Ben picks) while watching the offense blunder around most of every game is more than sufficient. The offense.. wow. I have no idea week to week what they are. It's like they know they have the right ingredients, but keep burning the cake. I have to think they will figure it out, but in the NFL, that means.. next week.

We haven't played one good opposing QB yet. good QBs will eat this defense alive especially as we can't stop the basic running game.

Just because a player has been great in the PAST, does not mean they get a free pass TODAY. Ben has NEVER been a Cerebral QB, he was able to get by with his athletic ability WHEN YOUNGER. Been should have spent the last 10 years learning to play QB with his head, since the other game will not carry you long term, and we have been seeing that throughout the last few years. As a QB starts to age, they have to be willing to be less of the hero and more of a game manager. Sure when he was younger he wanted to be a gunslinger, but his game now should be about moving the chains. The problem with these guys, all of them, is they have an ego that has been fed since they were little. I can honestly say I would most likely tell people to **** off and continue to do what I wanted too, if I were in the same position. That folks, is why you need a Head Coach, instead of a Coach that all the players love.

Cincy 14 of 19 for about 200 yards Meanwhile Bettis and Parker combined for 140 on the ground.

Denver 21 of 29 for 275 better than @cincy but nothing spectacular, in his defense though there were a couple of great throws in that game like the one where he rolled to his left and hit Ward in back of the EZ.

This just reinforces my point: if the play is broken he used his athletic ability to make the play anyway. In other ways though his game was not so strong.

Spot on.

You see this clearly in Brady who is methodically patient as he dismantles a defense, but if the deep ball is there he takes it.

Brady never had the escapabilty of Ben so of course his entire focus was on his mechanics in the pocket, and hitting his receivers quickly. This served him well as he aged and added more experience.

He is the extension of Bellichicks cold calculating efficiency on the field. Hey we have Tomlin though.....

I think Tomlin is not loved by all players. He has divided the team before.

Amazing how quick fans throw their most key players who has been excellent for years under the bus.

A week ago everyone was happy to beat the Ravens on the road.

Well yeah, because right now the Ravens are a bad team and it's always scary when the Steelers play a bad team on the road.
