basically, when they say they want to take the "head launch" out of football, what they're not saying is that, by proxy, they're ok with also taking the shoulder out of football, because it's damn near impossible to hit someone with your shoulder, without your head coming down a few inches. this **** is absolutely absurd.
 
This new helmet rule is out of control! He didn’t lower his head at all!

No ****.,...neither Steelers player led with their helmet. That's just ridiculous and that's going to cost some teams a few ballgames. It's really becoming hard to watch the NFL these days!
 
I don't know how you can physically make a tackle without lowering the helmet? This is a ******* farce. This needs to be reviewable. No contact with the head? No Penalty.

Holy crap Edmunds. Have to put that guy on the ground...

I used to scoff at the notion the NFL is turning into flag football, but after that call, I see where that's coming from. Damn shame, to take tackling out of tackle football.

It's an option. We need a Troy type guy of course we have nothing like that, Burnett might be the closest thing.

I see some of that in Terrell Edmunds. If he adds 5-10 pounds he's as big as most NFL ILB's. Could be a real weapon there....just projecting here...
 
Vanilla or not this Defense is going to be ******* ATROCIOUS to watch this season!
 
The rule reads:

Lowering the helmet to make contact with any part of the opponent's body. The horrible PIT crew that is making mistakes left and right, is reading the rule as the defender can't make contact with any part of ther body if they lower their helmet. That is WRONG.

The rule reads that the HELMET can't make contact, not lowering the head at all.

No combo blocks on KR. Should have been said no double team block by the return team, not the ball carrier.

These combo block calls are going to make it so the NFL finally gets what it wants. No more Kickoffs....
 
This defense is so painful to watch. Neither Bostic nor Matekevich are Steeler starting LB material. Can we still sign NoVarro Bowman?? Wishful thinking I guess...

Also; I can't wait for Toussaint to be cut. He has heart but is too small for the NFL.
