The five I think are lock hall-of-famers (and thus should get in first) are:

Dawkins, Faneca, Tomlinson, Taylor and Owens.

All the others are kind of question marks to me. I do think Coryell should get in sometime as a coach, but unsure how that works.

how is Kurt Warner even being considered for the hall, I don't think he is even in the top 20 of any category for a QB.

He was widely considered the best at his position for about a three year period, winning a SB and getting to another, while being a two time league MVP during that span. Also, he led two different teams to the SB.

Honestly, Kurt Warner was one of the greatest QBs I've watched play. The lull in the middle of his career was largely a product of circumstance, as both the Rams and Giants went with younger QBs, in Marc Bulger and Eli Manning respectively. Once he was given a legit chance again in Arizona, he again showed how great he was.

Not saying I disagree, but why will Jason Taylor get in when Kevin Greene had to wait so long? To me, KG >JT.

I don't think Kevin Greene is better than Jason Taylor. Not if you look at it without bias.

While Greene has him in sacks, Taylor leads him in forced fumbles (twice as many), interceptions (8 to 5) and passes defended (three times as many). I figure you're not a big fan, but Taylor leads substantially in Pro Football Reference "Approximate Value", 160 vs. 122 for their careers.

Taylor was pro bowl more (7 vs. 5) and more importantly 1st team all-pro more (3 vs. 2).

In addition Taylor has the ultimate feather for a defender: Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. Unless you get injured or just a complete one-year wonder, that award seems to guarantee you in the Hall. It is just chalked full of hall-of-famers.

I think Greene deserves to be in the Hall. I really do. Being 3rd all-time in sacks alone and all the stuff above should be good enough. But he's not better than Taylor.

Who leads who on safeties? Taylor is just a little better.

Coach, Id find it highly unlikely Jimmy Johnson gets in anytime soon... of every coach elected to the football hall of fame in the past like 30 years he has the lowest winning percentage and fewest wins. He by far has the fewest years actually coaching in the NFL. he innovented nothing, and the strength of his resume is rebuilding the Cowboys which was mostly based off of 1 really great trade and pillaging free agents before the cap came into effect.... Jerry Jones, not him, had total control of player aquisitions... so you cant even say he built a truely stacked team....

Does he likely one day get in based on those two SB victories... sure, but there is too large a backlog in deserving players to throw borderline coaches in there just yet

Jimmy Johnson is highly respected by the coaches. He runs a private offseason clinic in the Florida Keys, where people like Bill Belichick visit him for a few days and talk about football.

Remember Jimmy took over a 1-15 Dallas team and made them a dynasty. He was handed nothing but old and slow players. Not only was he a top head coach, you'd be hard pressed to fight a better GM. Jimmy made so many good trades. Unheard of. And he's decent on TV.

He's also 9-4 in the NFL playoffs. Few have better records than that.

Worthy of a Hall of Fame selection when you factor in all of the above. And he was fired by Jerry Jones for personal reasons, otherwise he would have achieved much more.

Well he actually took over a 3-13 team and led them to 1-15 his 1st year

Johnson may get in one day... but he has a lot going against him for an early election... yes he rebuilt the cowboys... but he did it pre salary cap, taking advantage of the only phase of free agency outside the cap, the most lopsided trade in nfl history.. the fact that Charles haley forced a trade to the cowboys for peanuts, and still he only managed a few years before he had a messy divorce from the team and could never recreate his success in miami... moreover his cowboys team was soon destroyed by free agency and didnt rebound fully for decades... 80 wins is probably not Hof material in most minds... nor is a .556 winning percentage
