My gosh... every day now some knee jerk, world is ending story is coming from the clickbait media... Rodgers is washed... The run game is in shambles... today the secondary, who has had nothing but accolades all offseason, is garbage because Mike Evans caught some passes on Ramsey

Pretty damn soon now boys? We will find out if all the big talk from players and head coach can be backed up.
I don’t know how this will work out this season but if it all implodes then there better be accountability.
If it works out and they make a deep run in the playoffs then by all means, Tomlin should receive the accolades. If it goes to hell he needs to be held accountable. Can’t have one without the other!

Yeah, I tend to skip most of the news articles these days since the majority of what's being put out there is not even news. It's, as you stated, clickbait with zero substance. Opinion articles full of speculation, negativity, and hypothetical trades that have zero chance of ever happening and based on zero actual official intel.
 
Scrimmage practices do not concern me. We won’t be able to gage this team with the plethora of players sitting. I think Ramsey will be inside not outside, that will go to Peezy Jr . and Slay.
 
Sounds like Broderick jones has been really strong since putting on the pads. Haven’t see A single article about that one
 
I don’t mind hearing about things not clicking for the offense or defense getting dissected during the joint practices. This is the time for sh!t like this to happen. Let someone exploit your weaknesses so you can get it on tape and adjust/fix. Rodgers said this specifically when he was asked about participating in preseason and practices. This is how you find out. Just because it doesn’t work out during these practices/scrimmages isn’t a bad thing. Now if they don’t adjust, that’s another story. Remember, Kenny Pickett was a preseason superstar a few years ago and then turned into a marshmallow

This 99.9 % of the articles out there today. Zero facts....just hypothetical scenarios and suggestions. Which you and I or any Tom, Dick, or Harry could write. Especially today, with the help of AI.

Ive cancelled my subscriptions to almost all media the past two years because of the over annoying clickbait articles... speculation and hyperbole are fine for a fan forum, but not the bulk of a major national publication like SI.

This is one of the best posts here since camp started.

Pretty damn soon…

Then games against the elites of the league that have blown us away recently and the post season, if we make it, should be more put up or pack your office moments
 
…now with that being what I said, preseason games (I know the thread is about practice) does benefit getting the offensive line in sync and it is truly the best way to figure who needs work where…
 
So piecing together limited media reports from that joint practice, the Steelers seem to have been playing zone over man press... which is likely why they looked bad... this isnt a zone style defensive backfield... especially with the no pass rush rules from scrimmages

And zone needs practice and communication among any player. Ramsey, JPJ and Slay are all new to each other along with the safeties. So they’re going to need some time to get their communication down and understand how each guy handles their assignments in zone. Getting it on tape vs another set of jerseys is valuable. It only helps them become a better unit when the do switch from man to zone
 
I take whatever is being said with a grain of salt. Everything is geared towards clicks and views in the media world nowadays. The majority of it is bullshit.


It's towards the last quarter of the actual season I'm hoping for upward trending toward peaking vs the downward spiraling crash,burn and explode that is the standard of every season now.


Everything from now until then is practice. Are they getting better,worse or the same?

Which would be more Tomlin putting a round peg into a square hole if that’s what happens in the regular season.

Only a stubborn jerk like Tomlin would play a bunch of candy *** bend don’t break zone defense with the corners we have-it would be a total waste…we will see
