I would rather play press man the entire game against the Pats. It gives you the best opportunity to have Brady hold the ball longer, thus giving the defense more time to get to him. The off coverage against Brady is COMPLETELY useless. For some reason, we fell to learn that...

Every time we play pressed coverage, they would do crossing rubs with their WRs. Amendola would run right into our corner and allow for a wide open pass. A couple times it looked like illegal screens but the refs aren't call that against them. I've seen us try those before and almost always get flagged for it so it's thrown out of the playbook.
Next time we play the patriots, Haley needs to put that in our playbook and fight fire with fire or make the refs throw the flag for it.

It's week 1. There's still next week

Positives are the offense. Unreal. DeAngelo Williams is choice. AB is damn good(still hate his dancing)

Lol to Steelerfan. Congrats for getting laid

The garbage time TD made it look like less of an asskicking...

Other than the safety sack I'm not sure Brady even had to move his feet in the pocket.........gonna have to be jamming receivers a loooooong time if the front 7 don't improve.

Edit. Sorry, forgot this was the pom pom thread.........Scobee was......oh, wait, nahhh...ummm, Dri was.......oh wait, never mind ummm.....well the coaching was....ummm, er, ahhh......wait,wait......GOT IT! Williams was stellar!

We don't have the personnel to jam recievers off the line. And playing back 10 yards isn't working either. What does Lake and Butler teach these guys in practice? WHy do we draft lil skinny guys? We need big, solid CB's and safeties to knock the snot out of people on the LOS.

Tomlin has to know all the tricks the pats**** have. Why doesn't he counter by being set up to not have to count on the headset, the qb communication, etc. They used to do it in the olden days.

Right now I am not sold on Butler being some kind of genius defensive mind that studied under LeBeau and received Vulcan mind melds! Butlers defense didn't look good at all. No spark. No power. Struck no fear in opponents. Very below average looking!

* Brady still has the quickest release out of the QBs, regardles of how much I hate him/them.
* Steelers will have a good solid one two punch at RB /WR
* Shazier and Dupree will continue IMO to get better
* With Boykin and Allen and Gay all slot capable, I think Blake's role will reduce eventually moving forward.
* Won't face another team where the communication gets mysteriously jammed.
* With the Steelers year in and year out being slow starters, every game moves you away from the start.

:excitement:

I was very surprised with the front 7. I thought they were good. We corrected the early rushing mistakes in the second half. Got some pressure, and even sacked Tom twice. Once we get the secondary playing aggressively, we may have a chance.

Mitchell had a great strip, too bad Gronk fell on it. We had the momentum, and it would have ratcheted up a notch if we get that ball.

Shazier, Dupree, Heyward, and Jarvis made plays in the backfield. Shazier looks special when he's healthy. I can see why we took him over Mosley. Way more potential, and Mosley is a great player as well.

Safety Blitz! WHOOOOOOOO! Get the secondary involved. CB Blitzed too please!! Might as well rush the passer, since covering receivers is a challenge.

The defensive shift against us was within the rules, and smart coaching. It can be used in any short yardage situation. Their secondary was brand new, but played press just about the entire game.

I'm not as down on time management at the end of the first half. Ben did throw a TD, DHB has to know where he his, cause that was a gimmie. The end of the game was worse to me, but I wasn't anticipating 2 TDs in 2min.

I wan't expecting a win, but I didn't feel bad about the loss. We ALWAYS start slow, and there was enough for me to see to give me hope moving forward. D will improve, and we will get some sacks. Offense with Wallace was a lot better than I was anticipating. He did a solid job. The sack was on him, but he was very good in this start considering our options.

DHB flashed, but could have been bigger.

Heath Miller is still amazing!

Wow did Williams impress me. He's way quicker than he was last year. We lost very little having Williams play for Bell. We lost a **** ton having DHB on for Bryant.

If we have Pouncey, Bryant, and Bell, we win this game. I'm not afraid to play this team in the playoffs. I know we can outscore them.

We have a really good offense, Ben only threw a couple of WTF passes.

Unfortunately we have a coach that cannot figure out how to address any problem with his team or his environment. Amateur.
