Finally the PPG isn't a bad word around this place any longer. I seeked out Ed Bouchette and he got a hold of his boss and they no longer have any issue with us posting stories from their site. But like every other site you must provide a link back to the PPG and post an excerpt from the story not the entire thing. I think we do a good job here of giving credit where its due.
 
Jebus. What was ever their problem to begin with? Posting links from them is doing them a favor.
 
Some of their writers where copying some of the POSTER'S material from this site. Then it escaladed from there.

I am glad for it to be over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The links will get them money now that they have their site for subscription only. You can view a few articles before they want you to start paying.
 
I seemed to remember a bit more than a little bit of comments from this web site being copied and pasted to the post gazette. I will only read the free stuff a few articles per month. Most of their work is not worth paying to read any way. The posters for the most part that show up on message boards and share their opinions on the game in question or the play or coaching seem to me to be better than the wordsmiths that hammer out drivel for a bird cage liner. Newspapers have dropped a great deal of quality over the last several years and I have decided they are not worth their cost.
 
I wonder if it's them being cool, or they are struggling. As that fact has been noted before.....

But a little peace never hurts.................................

But did they promise not to steal stuff from THIS site? That was a bigger issue, IMO, than us posting their news stories.
 
I dont think its s big deal if people jack storylines... Its a public messageboard. Frankly i think its cool when we outthink the talking heads here and they pilfer it....

Be flattered if a major news paper steals your idea. Besides that their whole staff has been turned over many times since the days of then stealing thoughts from here. (Besides a handful) Everyone steals from everyone. You may read a story on Steeler Depot and agree with it and come here to form an opinion. Writers look for stories everywhere.

Wasn't there something to do with using Steeler Nation as our name? Like they said they had ownership of it? Ed Bouchette is the only writer there worth a read, IMO.

Wildly blown out of proportion. They said they have no issue.

That's the first I have heard of it. I think as long as they are posting excerpts, not full articles, and link back to our content, I have no problem with

If you watch carefully you will see that the media almost always says "Steelers Nation" to prevent Diamond Dave from winning a multimillion dollar lawsuit.
 
Good deal Justin.... makes life easier. Sorry I was absent but it was Pen's playoffs baby.... Next up to bring home a championship is our Pittsburgh Steelers. On ice or Grass we kick A**
