So the kicker nails a 58 yarder to force OT then misses an extra point in OT for the loss....

Pitt is the quintessential poster child for self inflicted wounds both on and off the field... 80 to 90 years ago Pitt was the absolute premiere program in the whole country, but they wanted to prove how they were so much better than football, so they dismantled the program in the name of focusing on higher education first and foremost... then really outside of a small blip in the seventies, have been trying to get any sort of relevance in the football landscape, but then basically every time they move the needle a little bit, they blow things up in spectacularly stupid fashion....

On the field, any time they crack the top 25 you know a couple one or two point losses are coming... or an inexplicable loss to a crap team....

Its a shame because Its not like they cannot get high end talent... you could field and all pro team of guys who played in the pros from Pitt...

And of course all those coaches they flushed With the rest of the program in the late thirties went on to Notre Dame and established that legacy there..what could have been.....

Pickett is a baller tho. Pretty strong arm. Moves well when he has to. Felt bad for him .... hobblin around on a bum ankle, doin everything he could to get the TD in OT ... just to lose on a missed PAT.

Admitted homer, but I knew this would turn out badly with the reviews of the 2 BC fumbles near the Pitt goal line.
The first being ruled a fumble, yet somehow, magically, they see irrefutable evidence that the runners knee was down before the fumble and reversed their call.
The second was ruled down with the runner laying on top of other players, after the review, their call stood.

They couldn't catch a break.

They focused on higher education first and foremost:? Shame on them. Are you serious?
Thank goodness teams like Notre Dame and Stanford didn't do the same.

In his defense, the BC player rushing from the left was unimpeded and had a pretty good angle. He probably instinctively kicked it to the right.
