We can only hope. A 1st rounder would allow us to possibly move up a couple by packaging it with our 3rd rd pick. I have heard some say we can use the 2 1st round picks to move way up but I wouldn't do that. We have too many needs and, if drafted well, could get two very good players at top areas of need.

Say what's the over and under on Peter King's weight these days?

I think the Titans or Redskins will offer us the most. Any team that needs a WR ( Like Buffalo or Miami ) is going to take Metcalf. He just won't be there for the Titans, so it makes sense they would offer their first round pick or Mr. Big chest.

As Captain Picard would say........................."Make it so"

Of Course the Steelers are looking for a first round pick, but that doesn't mean that teams are willing to part with one, especially in such a defense rich draft. There are going to be some high quality WRs in the second and third rounds.

if there is anything I have learned from SN is that any team is always willing to give you what you want.

you can always trade down in the draft and the player you want will still be there. If a player gets traded to one team for a 3rd round pick, it is automatic, they would have offered the Steelers the same deal.

Right?

When will you guyz realize WE WILL GET A #1 for a freaking Hall of Famer Diva WR?

Someone is WILLING TO PART WITH ONE.....I don't get your line of thinking....Just not true. SOMEONE WILL PONY UP

I believe he will be a Oakland Raider. They will part with their #27 pick. They have three #1s. At #27, there will not be a better WR on the board than Tha Diva.

That's correct. Good that you've been paying attention.

"There is real competition for Antonio Brown on the trade market, and I expect the Steelers to trade him as early as this week—but almost certainly before the March 17 deadline to pay Brown a $2.5 million roster bonus.

My gut feeling is the Steelers will get the first-round pick they’ve been angling to get for Brown"

would they really take Oliver, though? I saw where he was even worked out at LB. Which makes me believe he may not be a NT.

At the risk of being called slow and stupid, let me axe yinz this....what if the diva gets traded to a team he doesn't want to play for ?

From what I think I know, he don't have a say so in this trade 'cause AR2 owns him for a couple more years.

What happens if he gets traded to a team and he just decides to stay home? He already stated it would be by HIS rules.

Maybe we get nothing, the other team gets nothing and AB starts throwing furniture or water jugs out of his Rolls Royce at a hundred mph ?.

.....will we get to keep the draft pick or will they write something into the contract to anticipate such a possibility ? It would be silly not to. huh ?

SteelChip, AB has no control whatsoever over the trade.

All he can do is hold out after the trade if he doesn't like it. However, the team picking up AB is in a very good position. They get top 3 WR at a high price, but not a ridiculous one. They have NO signing bonus requirement whatsoever in the equation and they have the power to tell AB they will sign him to a new deal IFF (if and only if) he performs well in his first year with the team.

Ultimately the Steelers AND the trade partner hold all the cards.

If AB does decide to hold out, then the team picking him up BOTH owns his contract AND gets out of paying him his salary this year. Which I sincerely doubt he's willing to forego. Basically, a team is giving up a first for clean, dirt-cheap rights to arguably the best WR in the game.

he is not a NT in the NFL, he is a 3 technique. He didn't do the drills at the combine, but will run DT and LB drills at UH's Pro Day later this month

He was asked about playing LB in the NFL and he said if a team wants to pay him to play LB...guess what, he would be playing LB....but he feels he is a DT at the next level

would the Steelers take him if they picked high enough? probably not, but I htink a good DC could make use of a guy who is position flexible and could be moved around to disrupt blocking schemes

For starters they can fine him for not showing and get money back that we paid him(ala Jake Plummer)
