Over the years it has become apparent that if they do not play a rookie right away some fans will call the team stupid and stubborn. On the other hand, if they decide to put a promising rookie into the mix right away, he is sure to be maligned for any stupid mistakes. Either way someone is going to to be a target, the team just needs to pick their poison.

We are playing rookies because over the years we lost our depth. The rookies we picked, espcialy Burns were raw.
