Gilbert might finally play some snaps in the secondary. Not that it matters if we have no pass rush...

Dangerfield will start at SS if Golden and Davis are out. Gilbert will play too.

With golden and davis hurting, Gilbert would be the 6th DB after Gay, Cockrell, Burns, Mitchell, Thomas.
Dangerfield should see a lot of snaps too

oh yeah.... they traded for justin gilbert. s.o.p. trade for a corner. don't play said corner

if Golden and Davis cant play the rotation should be Burns on Maclin Gay to FS Mitchell to SS Russ stays and you insert Gilbert in the slot.
we really need shazier to play kelse

This secondary has the potential to look very rough on Sunday night. Would be nice to see these guys capitalize on their opportunities.

In glad Gilbert is getting a chance. Personally, I'd put him outside with Cockrell, move Willie G inside to the slot and, wait for it...put Shamarko at SS.

you had me

then it turned into a sham

;)

This surprised me a bit...

...Steelers defense that has been tough on wideouts. In fact, Pittsburgh has allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wideouts.

I guess we've been getting killed by RB's and TE's in the passing game.

Tackling 101! It seems to be a lost art that they should have a black belt in by this stage. That soft zone crap blows too. It sucks because our guys are missing a ton of tackles. We got killed on screen passes last game. That's pathetic.

i thought tackles didnt matter. isnt that what was argued for pages and pages and pages in this very forum?

I'm expecting a rebound in both O and D play. If not a shutdown obviously, at least a decent performance of keeping the chiefs under 24 points. The safeties and LBs have to account for the short pass like they did in the first two games, flying to gang tackle the receiver before he can make a move

No need to tackle. Just blitz more

I think Dangerfield is a better tackler than Davis. The Bills cut him, so he might be decent as they also kicked Cockrell to the curb.

Gilbert has excellent physical ability. With the right coaching, we could have something here.

I mostly agree, but with three newer players, I keep Thomas out. Thomas very prone to blow assignments and his instincts is off. I'd roll with Dangerfield in his spot and see how it goes.

But does Tomlin know? Sorry Antdrewjosh, but he has a history of keeping bad performing players on the field for too long. If often takes an injury for change to happen, and history shows the team is often better off because of it.

We shall see if Dangerfield is better. As long as you keep him out of man, cover three as the deep safety, I think he will prove to be an upgrade over Davis, at least for now.

Jesus Coach what is it you hate so much about Davis. I thought he made some decent plays for a young thrown in there from day one. He made some solid tackles he also made some mistakes but who didn't. He is a freaking rookie who apparently the team thinks enough of to put out there in the secondary right away. I will trust their judgment and my own observations over yours on this.

Did his head measure to large for your liking?

Over the years it has become apparent that if they do not play a rookie right away some fans will call the team stupid and stubborn. On the other hand, if they decide to put a promising rookie into the mix right away, he is sure to be maligned for any stupid mistakes. Either way someone is going to to be a target, the team just needs to pick their poison.
