I've toured the track but never been to a race there. Have fun!

There could be riots

NASCAR tracks make request for fans to not fly Confederate flag

A NASCAR spokesperson said the request would pertain to "overt displays" of the Confederate flag. If you're a fan wanting to bring in a 15-foot Confederate flag to fly on track property while at a race or are planning to use the symbol as a way to make a boisterous statement, you're likely going to be asked to not do so and possibly escorted out of the track premises.

NASCAR ****** up moving this.race.to night. This time of year there is almost always an afternoon or evening thunderstorm. If they had run it during the day, no delay.

NASCAR screwed themselves too by running this race on a Sunday night. Why would anyone think that is a good idea? Everyone has to be back to work Monday. They are hurting attendance all by themselves. Now if this race gets run at all tonite most fans will be gone and if it's delayed until Monday, next to no one will be there. Should have run this race Saturday night.

Mrs. Burgundy agrees and is all sorts of pissed off that the race is tonight instead of Saturday night. Especially with the rain delay. Maybe some people get Monday off for the holiday but both of us had Friday off from work.
Doesn't look like Imma get laid tonight.

I gave up at 9:30 when I saw a lot of drivers were.not even in their firesuits. Never saw a single lap of that race. This might be.the lowest viewed Daytona 400 race in history and NASCAR can only blame themselves.

They probably consulted The Rog in making that decision...

As though the crash wasn't bad enough, but then getting hit after the car rolled to a stop was stuff right out of Final Destination.

Junior wins, #3 car crashes on last lap...I was already writing the headlines

no wonder Danica won't go back to open-wheeled cars - smart girl

that was one of the scariest wrecks ever! Can't believe he walked away from that. Kudos to NASCAR, track and safety crews. Going 200 mph and the fence basically stopped the car. Unreal.

I saw a pic on the post-race of the engine/transmission laying by itself in the grass.

Yea hook, that was pretty bad, too. I don't think I've seen that before. Was it Ryan Newman that went into the fence at Talladega or Daytona that injured a fan? That was pretty bad, as well.

I left the track at about 9:30PM - got tired of sitting in the rain and figured I'd beat the traffic home JAX...so I left...

Got home 5 minutes before they dropped the green flag - and I stayed up and watched the race. Unbelievable...

I'll upload my pictures when I get home.
