I always wondered if there is some type of gentleman's agreement or unwritten rule that players abide by in international events. Apparently not based upon that hit. I dont think he was even in the vicinity of the puck when the opposing player clipped him.

My sales guy in Pittsburgh heard Mark Madden say that Sid’s knee injury is season-ending. MF

Canadian coaches talked about Sid addressing the team before the 3rd, and the team committing to winning the game so Sid would not have ended his Olymipcs.
MRI and such will be the real judge, but good news from the DR that he could play in the next game.
Regardless, Sid is the classy team leader that every NHL player would "go through a wall for" as a teammate.
Let's hope he gets the green light tomorrow.
