I was hoping the Coogs could win, but honestly would have been happy with a competitive game. They came to play today and refused to quit even when FSU got close late in the game....
I'm assuming you mean "the mighty they have fallen"...implying that only a bad team could lose to a non-power conference school in a bowl game...
FSU had not allowed 25 points in a game all season. That sounds like a pretty good defense. UH has a really good team this season. They would have been undefeated going into this game if Greg Ward had been able to play against UCON. They were also without the top two running backs that game and only had a young kid to run the ball. They ended up taking a CB who played some RB in high school and converting him to RB for the Navy game the week after UCONN.
I know this game meant more to UH than FSU, but UH outplayed them the whole game. They stuffed Cook the whole game and put a lot of pressure on Maguire forcing mistakes.
Other than a few schools at the very top, I would put UH up against any school this year.
