Why are we not doing stuff like this? Our OLB depth stinks and I'm not that high on Chikillo.

Patriots acquired DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo from the Browns.

The return compensation is unclear, but like many August trades, it's probably a conditional day-three pick. The No. 6 overall pick of the 2013 draft, Mingo has been a comprehensive bust, tallying seven career sacks, only two of which have come in the past two seasons. The Pats are low on edge depth, however, and Mingo was drafted by Patriots guru Mike Lombardi in Cleveland. He'll start on special teams and fight for snaps on defense.

Not specifically him, but low risk, high upside guys. Sometimes I think the FO is too conservative.

We already have one of those in JJ

Pretty much. 7 sacks vs 5 sacks. The funny thing is Mingo was a freak athlete without production while JJ was a poor athlete with freak production.

I think a 5th is a little high.

But maybe the Pats like the gamble.

Don't necessary think it was of value for the Pats, but I will say their team doesn't sit on their hands.

Steelers let's talk CB,TE, and backup QB.

This. Just look at our backup QB situation. They knew what we had was hot garbage heading to this preseason, but what did they do about it? Was Grads all of a sudden gonna get good or not get hurt?

Were they expecting Landry Jones to magically get good? This is appalling.

Pats never stop turning over stones and trying to improve. Steelers are so afraid of "change" that the sit on their hands far too often.

True colors...

In the past we brought in a kicker. Via trade. Didn't work out that well. We also brought in a CB. Via trade. Also didn't work out well. I'm also guessing you probably blasted the Steelers in hindsight on both of the trades. Go ahead and say the Steelers don't turn over any stones though.

Just so it's very clear.......The CHEATRIOTS don't hit on every player they get. They aquire as many failures as not. That is why the are continually in the circle. Think about it...

Salute the nation

We already spent a 5th this year on Feeney who has both skills and lack of bulk similar to Mingo. Let's see how that works.

Feeney has been hurt so often, I'm surprised he hasn't hurt himself yet. We obviously need to look at DE's and cb's via trade or vet cuts. No way around it.,
