I'll go even further: Mahomes is going to suck in the NFL. His mechanics give me a headache and are essentially unfixable in the length of a rookie contract. He holds the ball and runs around like a dumbass with WRs open just to make the hero play.

Also, remember Graham Harrell? Kliff Kingsbury (as a player, not the coach)? Billy Joe Tolliver? How about BJ Symons? Want to draft one of them in the first round?

They were all better than Mahomes in college with less physical talent and mostly less talent around them.

I would not touch him in the first 3 rounds. The fact that he is being mentioned as a first round pick is worse than Jarvis Jones or Troy Edwards in the first round. It's Jamain Stephens level stupidity.

EDIT: I don't have an issue with Kizer as long as Ben is in 2 more years.

While I understand your feelings regarding his mechanics in the first paragraph, I have to say it's​ not even a comparison to Mahomes and those past TXTech QBs as none of them were even close to as physically gifted as Mahomes is

Yes, but they were better QBs. Mahomes has WAY better physical skills but is a worse QB.

Similar to Kizer, I cannot argue with the physical talent but just watching them stare down WRs, miss easy reads, make stupid plays work purely based on physical talent means I would not touch them in the first few rounds. The transition to the NFL is going to be brutal for them.

I would also take Kizer over Mahomes 100% of the time.

His mechanics will be fine. He can throw it 65 yds. from his knees. I would also question that we can't win with a guy who likes to run around and look for the big play.
