Packers trade Davante Adams?!?!

Running backs don't have that value. You can get a stud in the first round and you basically own his valuable years. No one is trading a 1st for a RB. Just use your first
But Bell considered himself a running back AND a wide receiver. Therefore, obviously he should get top money for each, combined.

This is what I thought when I heard this news... The Steelers should have done exactly this with the Leveon Bell situation. Hindsight.
I’m not sure anyone was willing to trade for Bell. RBs have lost value, WRs have gained value. Another team could have signed Bell and given the Steelers their first rounder as compensation.

I’m not clear on why the Raiders traded for Adams instead of just signing him and only giving up the first round pick? Did something change with restrictions on franchised players?

The Packers were ready to sign Adams to a long term deal. Reportedly offered him more than what the Raiders were offering but he wanted out and wanted Las Vegas so that may have influenced the trade instead of the first round compensation for a tagged player. Packers would have matched the Las Vegas offer. Adams wanted out and Geenbay knew it.

Actually, I forgot that the compensation is TWO first round picks, so the packers are getting arguably less than they would have had the Raiders just signed Adams.

Yea, forgot as well so I'm guessing the Raiders said we're not giving up two 1st round picks and the Packers decided a 1 and 2 is better than nothing if Adams refused their offer and was going to sit.
