OVERALL what's the thinking on the new XFL..................... ?

I enjoy watching it. I don't carve out time to watch yet. I might do that for the championship.

It's hard to not agree with the previous poster who said it would be good to see them succeed to jab at the nfl a bit. The nfl needs a real kick in the arse.

Prices are standard for all teams. They go as high as $120 a game, down to $20 range. You could get Redskin tickets last year for $5.
Yes but someone paid a lot more than $5 for that ticket. Once seasons are lost for a team a ticket value really plummets. Same people will re up for those same tickets next year.

I like it. It's good to see some familiar faces getting second looks. I love the replay as other's have said and I also like hearing the plays being called in on offense. I watch it. It's along the lines of college football talent wise with some refreshing takes on rules.

It’s ok I guess. I find it hard to stay interested, because it is mostly ****** football. Every now and again there is a nice play, but it is mostly mediocre football.

That's where I am. If I have nothing else going on or nothing to watch I'll turn it on, but I was more interested in the final round of golf Sunday than I was the XFL.

From the way that it's structured, the XFL seems like it's going to be around for more then a minute. Which is good for us. Who knows what may happen down the line but if nothing else, the XFL will put some players in the NFL.

watching golf on TV is boring as watching turtles ****

I've watched parts of both Houston games and they were fairly entertaining. QB play seems to be the biggest weakness,

Evidently,....... You've watched turtle ****, as well. LoL

What I've been able to catch on YouTube, the XFL games aren't bad at all. When some here compare them to the NFL one should Remeber that the NFL has been around here 100 years and the XFL has yet to complete a season. THAT said, XFL isn't a bad product, just and infant product that is headed up hill or getting better as the games go on.

TOP of the line in quality of play......NO but an alternative to NO FOOTBALL after GREED machine season........YES

Salute the nation

of course, how else could I make the comparison

oh and as was posted in the XFL game thread...Sammie Coates is still Sammie Coates, I'm not even sure how he made the team, they do have a kid at WR named Phillips who is pretty damn good

Many millions watch college football, which is greatly inferior to the NFL. If we had a team in Pittsburgh that was a contender, I'd watch every week.

Yeah I initially watched but to keep my interest I would need a team in Pittsburgh...

Since the XFL is not subject to NFL rules, they can draft freshmen and sophomores. Will be interesting to see if the XFL tries to poach top talent before the NFL is allowed to draft them. More likely they will end up just loading up with a bunch of mediocre kids who know they have no shot to make the NFL.

They would still be subject to NFL grabbing them back after 1 season of play. Still a win for both sides there....

I hear yaz slash. It would be a shame for the XFL to pirate a "freshman" S-U-P-E-R talent to only see him ruined with injury. I realize injury could happen anywhere / time but it would put a sour note in many a mouths...

I see the XFL being here and as time goes so does expansion. I'd definately like to see a franchise in the BURGH and then like many here, I'd definately be more participating. REMEMBER the Women's league / team champions located right there in PITTSBURGH..!

I just love that I can see every game each week. I hate the NFL format of everyone playing at the same time. Stagger that ****, you can get 4 games in on a Sunday (which is what happens with UK games). 2 games in on a Monday night (do it every week, not just week 1). And a Thursday (which sucks ***). Screw college and start going up directly against it. Bam another 4 games!

That's 11 of the 16 games visible each week. Now we usually have 5. 3 Sunday, 1 MNF, 1 TNF

Sorry I’d rather watch a great golf round by amazing players than mediocre no names play football.

That said I’ll watch when I can
My state team Tampa is 0-2 before they even have a home game sigh

You cannot compare college football to this. College football is it's own entity separate from pro. You have generational inner and inter state rivalries. You have players who people have watched since high school. You have the best players of the future. College football has a lot of problems including a terrible lack of parody. But when you are talking Alabama v. Auburn. Michigan v. Notre Dame. Etc. Its pretty hard to compare that to the Dragons v. Gladiators.

The NFL and NBA have multi-million dollar minor league systems they use for free - college. Neither will ever undercut these talent providers.

For comparison, MLB teams spend an estimated $22 million per team for the AAA, AA and high-A teams. That is $66 million for the upper level teams. The MLB teams pay ALL the salary. An estimated 12 teams, all AA or higher, are profitable, but the profits go to the actual team owners, not the MLB affiliate.

Further, the low-A teams and below (rookie ball, short season, Dominican teams, etc.) cost another $5 million per, with no profit to worry about. Teams thereby spend on average $80 million per season on minor league franchises.

Football and basketball teams get that for free, and with competition that is much better at predicting future success than the current high school/college programs do for baseball players. NFL and NBA are smart enough not to #$%@ with the college goose laying the golden eggs of future players, at no cost to the professional franchises.

Great points. The last time the NFL got into the minor league game was the WLAF and they lost a ton on it. XFL isn't subsidized, so it doesn't hurt NFL owners by having to pay for teams. So far it's a good option for good players that may have fallen through the cracks of the NFL. Perhaps they were in the wrong system, or need more time to develop? I like having this option as well as the CFL, to find more talent for the league outside of college.

Landry Jones is undefeated..............hahahaha. I watched maybe four games and the highlights of all the games. In the games that I did see, not once did they mention Tom Brady or the Cheats. Thats reason to watch right there.

btw.......you can watch the full games live or recorded, or just the highlights on u-tube.

The games are getting better each week. Starting to look like a good product. There are things I like about the XFL’s game flow I really like. The kickoffs are really interesting and I like the extra point and overtime models. Not too sure I like the continuing playclock.

You are comparing rivalries (college) TO AN XFL THAT HASN'T EVEN FINISHED A SEASON. I've caught the Huston XFL game. It is as good of football and better than than 90% of college play. The game changed leads and it came down to the winless team nearly pulling on upset. The actual play / game progress / officiating / handling of penalties / all provided good flow and entertainment.

Again YES there is some great rivalries in the college ranks but don't sell short a league that is in its inaugural season. This league can do anything college can do and actually has NFL experience playing.

I like it.!
