Our OL

runs with bell that are blast, dives should only be run at the right side, beachum and foster are not opening good enough holes, they need more toss, sweep and stretch run plays, where Will Johnson and DeCastro @ pouncey are leading the way.

That was their second loss of the season (they started 0-2), they went on a five game winning streak. Last week against the Bengals they had 4 sacks and 9 QB hits. They had 5 sacks and 8 QB hits against the Texans. They had 3 sacks and 5 QB hits against the Titans. And they had 4 sacks and 7 QB hits against Jacksonville. They have a pass rush, our OL played great yesterday, especially in the passing game.

After seeing the highlights of last week against the Bengals I thought Ben would get killed..

Helluva job by the OL yesterday.

Yeah wingman, I remember that. It was the end of the Donahoe era. '98 - 2000. Specifically remember the play where he yelled at Jamain Stephens and smacked him on the rear. When Colbert came here, the lines were better. Particularly the 04 & 05 seasons. Bettis' last couple of years was what I was referring to.

That era was bad, mostly because the drafting was horrible from about 94, until 98, when it picked back up. If you go back and look at those drafts, it's almost like 2008 for 3-4 years straight. In a 4 year stretch, from 94-97, Jason Gildon was the only player drafted who made multiple Pro Bowls. This, even more than the erratic play of Kordell, was the reason why the team tanked after the players Noll left behind began to wind down. Drafting began to pick up in 1998, with 5 elite players (Porter, Smith, Ward, Faneca, and Hampton, plus semi elite Burress) being added to the team between 98 and 2001. This is why the team began to win again, even with Kordell back at the helm. Since the Troy Edwards pick, the Steelers have really only whiffed on one first round pick (Ziggy). While some haven't become elite, all have been productive (jury is out on Jarvis and Shazier). Unfortunately, only one guy who was drafted after the first round from 04 to 09 is still with the team (Gay). This is a major reason why the team is thin in spots. It's hard to maintain a high level if you're basically only adding one guy a year through the draft. 2007 would have been an outstanding draft had Woodley not fallen off of a cliff.

Gilbert should be nervous.

Does he get his spot back automatically after Adams play?

He got paid so he probably will, but there has been no drop off at RT after he went down. Adams could be a good trade chip for us if he stays healthy.

They played great but the colts have no pass rush I watched them week 2 against the eagles. foles became flat footed in the pocket because the pass rush was non existent.

Not true. Indy sent the blitz, often enough, and it was kyboshed...give credit when credit is due. The boys played lights out yesterday...

This team has talent. They were challenged rose to, responded and exceeded the challenge. As Ben said in his presser, "why can't we continue with this success"?
Now that everyone knows especially younger players what the level of play and the standard is, they should also know they will be expected to perform at that level or better.
