Before it was merely bad. But now, without our starting QB, our starting RB, our two best WRs in concussion protocol and likely out at least a week or two, our starting center suspended for 3 games with an oline that was playing poorly anyway, an OC that no one has confidence in and a second year QB that basically sh!t the bed last night...not sure I want to see anymore. I feel bad for the defense.

Embarrassing losing to a bad browns team

The line, rushing, passing, receiving. Bunch of trash everywhere.
Conner and JuJu are great feelgood stories, but they are not RB1 and WR 1 Talent.
The line is totally overrated, Mason Rudolph sucks.

What has happened to this offensive line, we cannot run the ball and Mason has had no time and no room to pass. These Tight ends we have are useless

Yeah the offense is terrible although I think Rudolph will never be any better than Charlie Batch the receivers just aren’t that good either. The line is still pretty good considering Rudolph doesn’t help them out much by holding onto the ball.

Mason sucks, but at no time did Tomlin even think of taking him out. That's worse.

Cause he can't game day coach...completely clueless
Best coaching part last night was him giving the defense a "Pep Talk" next play = First & goal, next play = TD a players coach right?

I'm ready for a QB change

Frankly I was ready at halftime last night. Seems like the perfect time to me; long week of prep before the next game, lots of other shuffling among the starters with injuries and suspensions...

I don't see what we have to lose. Neither Mason nor Duck has really separated themselves or proven themselves to be the better choice. Mason hasn't been bad (until last night when he officially sucked) but he hasn't been great either. I think Duck might actually have an advantage due to his mobility given the apparent shortcomings of our Oline. Pretty obvious to me that Baker's mobility last night paid huge dividends for the Clowns. He escaped pressure and made plays downfield all night while Rudolph just stood there and got hammered or made inaccurate or disastrous throws. Give Duck a shot and see what he can do. If we stay the course IMO we will have gained nothing in this lost season. Ben will come back for a year (or maybe two) and we will have a couple guys playing behind him with our QB future up for grabs. Rudy has had enough games to "showcase" his talent. Give Duck the same chances. If Duck sucks put Rudy back in. Maybe a little time on the bench will do him some good. I don't buy that "You can't go back" crap. Maybe that is the case where you have an established QB (ala the Eli Manning situation) but here we're talking about two young guys without NFL resumes. Of course, I don't expect any of this to happen. Tomlin is nothing if not stubborn. He may not live in his fears but this year he seems to be at least renting out a room there.

What happened is the only good teacher on this team who could make something out of meh, left. So the line is no longer a strength it is a near weakness.

I am not absolving Mason Rudolph of the whole thing. But it looked to me that they averaged less than 2 yards per carry. There number one receiver was out. Their number 2/3 was out. At times the Browns had 10 guys within a yard of the line of scrimmage. When the line wasn't just bull rushed back into him, he was pulling the ball down cause the receiver was blanketed. Anytime they got in real trouble the Browns could dial up instant pressure. Tom Brady wasn't winning that game last night with that help. Not a ****** chance.

After Conner and JuJu left the game we were pondering who was our best offensive player still in the game. Couldn't come up with an answer. They all sucked.

Rudolph will be fine. The issue is we don't want a QB to be fine! We all want 'Ben at his best' expectations.

Unfortunately, Rudolph got caught up in the Browns hype and had a bad game. Even at that, we still had a chance late. He will learn and I expect to win 5 out of last six.

Obviously he has made 'more than a few' bad throws, but if receivers can catch the ball its a different game.

This offense has been trending this way. The winning masked some opinions of that. Even at full health, I would expect them to max out at 13 offensive points per game. Anything more than that probably means some very significant mistakes by the opposing defense.

It was designed to protect Ben. His play allowed the run game to work by making the other team have to play the pass. It isn’t the skill it is the scheme and talent behind the line. I was blaming Mason but after reflecting on it as bad as he was he did not have chance once JuJu James and Johnson went down. We lost the J squad and Randy lost what little ability he already has to call competent plays. It was a **** storm that we were lucky to have a shot at surviving thanks to defense.

I think it is predictability. We fool no one now with our offense and the defenses are playing confidently and downhill against us, without hesitation or trying to diagnose.

Lebanon beat me to it. Exactly agree with his take on our O line.

We have to honest with ourselves. When BB went down, what were your expectations?

I admit the kid has played ok given his first go around, not having WR that are catching the balls (when they are there), a Running game that is non existent more often than not, teams having everyone in the damn box, and an OC that’s not scheming for this. He has done ok.

That aside. I’m looking at just him play. Lately I don’t like what i see. I said it before, he has stone fn feet. Drop back, set, that’s it. No movement. No sliding to protection. Not giving yourself better sight lines. This is why I think he gets hit so much, why the line looks worse than it truly is.

Is duck better? Come on his is 3 for a reason. Could he be? Donno. But he will still face the same issues MR is. No running, stacked box, WR that won’t catch when given there chances. Next game, MR gets a half. If he is complete **** again, it’s time to try duck. See what happens.

You try duck for a spark. If it doesn't work? Well then it is just more of the same. I can deal with a loss better knowing they tried some different things. But to do the second thing over and over again and to expect different results? The true definition of insanity.
